Have we had this yet?  I'm sure we have, given its level of epicness, but I haven't found it.

I honestly think it would be quicker and less painful to simply push the broken down car home.

Would that be ex-BT or had they all gone grey by then?

Long Test Pug 405.

I may or may not have put in a bid. Modern equivalent, did the wheels on these always fit this poorly?

Over here, autotrader magazine is a free rag, all of about 30 pages and set out like those local mags given out free at Asda, to entertain blokes for all of 3 minutes whilst they wait in the car for the missus. Usually full of imported, 1500cc auto dross but then this beaut emerged. I was working a night shift when I saw it and thought it was a mirage! (No Mitsubishi jokes, please)

No, I think those are wheels and tyres from a 206.

^ Yep look like 206 GTi wheels, they look far too small for that car.

^^^^Worth that in bits. Very embarrassing to be seen towing away though...

Just get in , sink into that big comfortable seat, pull the choke out and fire her up.

This is what life is all about.

So there I am, browsing eBay looking for a classic van I might buy rather than working and making the money to buy one, when I see something that catches my eye:

One owner ...

22,000 miles from new ...

Ford Anglia van ....

This sounds good.

Unfortunately the one owner has kept it in a salt water bath for 30 years:

Th'octopus is the bit where all the plumbing for the suspension meets I think - two pipes per wheel, hence right pipes, hence octopus. I might be wrong though.
