One life. Live in properly, instead of haemorrhaging thousands on some daft Land Rover on steroids.

Got my eye on this one as it's not far away, if it ends with no bids I'm going to contact the seller and see if I can get it cheap.

Talking of V12 jags:

If you can understand that in less than 5 'reads' you're doing well

But will the engine fit in an old Volvo?

Thanks to your assertions that it's actually a decent car, I've just discovered myself reading through that Seville's advert again in detail and researching how much tax is whilst my housemate uses a variety of colourful expressions to suggest I'm out of my mind.  He's right, of course, it does 13MPG round town, I have no room for it and it's out of budget.

Can someone else buy it please and let me have a go in it.  That's all I want.

The tax will be the same as any other pre-2001 over-1549cc car.  I actually got closer to 17mpg out of mine around town, mid-20s on a run.  It's the only car I've ever owned which was more economical at a steady 60 than a steady 50.  It's still never going to be a Charade TD though.  Lovely thing to waft about in, with great seats, more gizmos than you could ever want (mine had a built-in minidisc player), and the usual tacky American build quality to keep you amused.  I didn't think the handling was that bad for a FWD car weighing nigh on two tonnes - the only times I had "moments" on Norfolk back roads were when I let the car run away and found myself approaching a tight bend at 90 instead of 60 - it's one of those cars that disguises its speed well.  The only annoying thing I found was that the gearbox took ages to kick down.

In short, buy it.

I thought those cruella sevilles had the north star v8 that shut down half it's cylinders at cruising speed for mpg.

I don't think it's the Northstar that does that - I think it was one of the older ('70s - early '80s?) GM V8s that did that trick.  What the Northstar can do is shut one bank down alternately to allow the engine to run for up to about 50 miles with no coolant whatsoever - not that this would be something I'd ever fancy trying out.

I'm pretty sure it was Junkman who posted this originally, therefore I blame him entirely for the sorry chain of events that followed. He really should do the honorable thing and buy it. Shiter's discount applies. Please. Somebody get this fupping thing out of my sight. cheers!

Moody looking mk2 Honda Legend, great looking cars IMO

Needs some brake work but apart from that it looks pretty tidy.

How much of a shiter's discount are we talking?**  Would you take an immaculate*, reliable* Renault Vel Satis in p/x? ;-)

I love these old Sunbeams.  Driving my mate's 1956 example from Preston to Norfolk cross-country was one of the most enjoyable drives of my life.  And I'm never going to be able to afford an immaculate one.

It needs a fuck-ton of work to make it usable; new brake master cyl, steering needs a good looking at (it's mostly play at the moment), most of an exhaust and a load of welding. Chassis is solid and the front subframe is miraculously alright (that's what kills 'em) and all the impossible to find trim is there. It ain't a weekend project though, it's the real deal resto case I'm afraid.

Shiter's discount is a firm £1500, no p/x, swopz, hursts, potatos etc

If you could fix the brakes and get it delivered and knowing your fondness for 80's female Radio 1 Presenters I'll send you a signed photo of Liz Kershaw and Jakki Brambles in lieu of payment, do we have a deal?

I'm glad I didn't see your kind offer earlier, I'm only just managing to resist putting a cheeky bid on it as it is.
