eBay tat volume 3.

The ad is of the sort which makes me think that whatever the seller hasn't mentioned is totally worn out or not working. "it can only be an appreciating asset... terrific"

Squeezed through a test a couple of months ago with at my friendly local. Cambelt was changed once upon a time. Quite amazingly, down the years it's had a new clutch, tyres, springs and even brake pads. The last owner was apparently spending all his spare time trying to make this thing be half-decent as a mode of transport, according to his irate notebook found in the glovebox. Even apparently a Citrophile, but this (now shiny) turd was too much for him, even.

Amazingly, the alternator belt once had to be replaced.

The previous owner finally gave up on it when it started soaking its carpets and dripping engine oil everywhere. Although described as not rusty at all, the welding to the structure is reasonably done and there is no more expected until the next MoT in a few months time.

The body is scraped, scuffed and repainted so badly it needs a mention but has been buffed up for the unsuspecting punter on ebay.

Someone has tried to run such gloopy oil through the fuel system an extra pump has been needed - old engine oil or shite oil from the local boozer or kebab house? The injectors will be fooked, the pump questionable and the starter on its last legs. But the glow plugs are probably almost new.

The closing statement says it all -  "I would be happy to consider a cheap part exchange against this car - anything with 4 wheels considered, I don't mind one needing work, no MOT etc. I trade a lot of vans so would be especially interested in one. Can't be more than about £200 though"

So this cost £200 or less and has been coaxed through an MoT with a bit of welding sufficiently long ago to make any questions to its structural integrity useless, Wottabargin.

^^ Shitness protection programme?

IT WAS ALWAYS GARAGED, NEVER ALLOWED TO STAY ON HIS DRIVE, EVEN FOR A SHORT TIME. HE WOULD DRIVE IT HOME, OPEN THE GARAGE, AND DRIVE IT IN, FOR PROTECTION AND SAFE KEEPING. HE WOULD RELIGIOUSLY PERFORM THIS RITUAL, EVEN IF HE WAS GOING OUT AGAIN IN ONE HOURS TIME!!

Nice work stretching the phrase "always garaged" out to a full paragraph.

Rare Automatic version - you don't see these every day!

Look at the state of this shifter. It looks like a comedy golfer has lost his rag and stabbed his nine iron into the centre console.

Wonder if I could pay for Albert Ross to holiday at my house for a week to put this back together.  Land Rovers are just like a Meccano kit, I've heard.  Although a Meccano kit where you're missing some of the parts could be frustrating.

Even though it clearly says 1993 K Reg Citroen BX for some reason the link just brings up a Saab :?

Thumb hiding missing corner of panel, or if he stops holding it there it'll fall out on the carpet.
