I have some serious WANT for an Avantime at the moment. I've loved the look of them ever since seeing them before they came out in Autocar back in 2001 or when ever it was.

 

The one looks a little rough around the edges with a couple of scrapes and maybe a broken catch on the centre cubby hole - but its a 3.0 V6 with the manual box and its had a cam belt change. Should I? I'm very very tempted...

Space is the only major issue with nabbing an Avantime. Anyone want a Rover SD1 V8 manual - series 1 with no tax or MOT but is basically solid with a very good engine?

As if you need to ask. It will be a world of pain but even if it just sits broken on your drive for the next 20 years it would of been worth it, just look at it !!!!!!!

Mutha funka!!! this is about 20 mins max from the bo11ox museum, anyone want it? I'll fetch it to the museum, cook your tea and we can give it the once over and fix any leaky pipes, missing headlamp lenses etc before you set off home in it. 500€, I would defo haggle on that though. You must collect during 2nd or 3rd week of July

I'm in BR3 Phil so can view for you no probs. Not sure what the hell I'm supposed to look for mind seeing as these are mentally complicated, but if it starts runs and stops I say BUY IT!

There's a few things that need checking on these, windscreens are about £2000 to replace so obviously I wouldn't want a damaged one, similarly the headlamps are around £600 for the part alone so can't be cracked. Otherwise a manual should be less trouble than a auto and there isn't anything else really obviously wrong except for the scratch, scuff and the centre consol cubby hole.

 

If I contact the seller first, would you be willing to take a peek?

I was sniffing that Fiat advert earlier - its not excessively far from me but I prefer the brown jag I posted a few pages back for the same price from the same area. I was going to phone about it this evening, but like a fanny I fell asleep and its too late now - Will call tomorrow.

How much? Any idea whats needed for a ticket? Is the bonnet still sprayed a different colour??

Its Atlantis blue, a rare shade only used between 1978 and 1980
