This is the spit of the one I used to have accept mine was much nicer. A drunk driver ran up the arse of it when it was parked on the road the day after I sold it. The new owner came back to ask for a receipt for the insurance company. They caught the drink driver as he went home and phoned in the car as being stolen but when the police got there all the glass was on the outside of the car. A Genius

This one definitely wasn't once a £60k car, but it does have the same reg number sequence as my 2CV.

1-litre auto for maximum misery. £150 so far.

I nearly bought one of those when I was a student. You will all no doubt be pleased to hear that I went for a navy Metro with full beige interior instead.

"Angular Masterpiece"

Item location: Corby, United Kingdom

The town was at one time known locally as "Little Scotland" due to the large number of Scottish migrant workers who came to Corby for its steelworks. [...]

Scottish migration to Corby has created a unique population in the borough, evidenced most clearly in the 'Corby accent',[15] referred to as 'Corbyite', which is often described as sounding Glaswegian. The link with Scotland is a strong feature of the area: according to the 2001 Census, there were 10,063 Scottish-born in the Corby Urban Area Ã¢â‚¬â€œ 18.9% of the population.

That would explain it...

Delta 88 sounds more like a flight number than a car to me...

Being an 80s American car it has an interior inspired by a particularly garish tart's boudoir, which is of course chock full of win:

That's tasteful. Some of the tarts boudoirs I've seen involved cripsy curtains, stained sheets and sticky floors! They were obviously the Autoshite Tart rather than anything you have to pay for!!

'Selling because my missus has had to give up work. She got a job in the factory down the road, but unfortunately she's dyslexic and thought it was a place that made jazz records. She was changing the inlet gasket on the population paste machine but someone hadn't shut the valve and she subsequently got covered in jizz. In an effort to save her from drowning a nearby worker got her in the shower, turned on the jet washer and inadvertently forced baby gravy up every orifice at 200psi. She's now pregnant by several thousand different partners and neither the DSS nor the CSA will help. Might swap for Maestro van'

If you'd ever attempted to pilot one of those hopeless Merc vans the first thing you'd want to change is the gearbox. Trust me, at least with an automatic you'd be able to get the right gear within a six week time frame.

Dads company had a white one of these woeful vans. The gearbox was back to front so second was where first was etc! The only redeeming feature was that the bxstard would rust in front of your eyes ala Lancia Beta style!

Let the looks not mislead you, these are darn good cars!

Took it on a 3000 mile continental trip that included Berlin and the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße.

The thing never put a foot wrong and returned 32 OMGMPG.

Pushrod V6, so no bloody rubber bands to worry about.

Spares are cheap as chips from the usual US car parts outlets.

This car was owned by the late Peter O'Toole a well renowned film star and theatre actor who was awarded 4 Golden Globes, a BAFTA and an Emmy. Some of the films he starred in were Laurence of Arabia, Goodbye Mr Chips, The Ruling Class, The Stunt Man and My Favourite Year and there were many more plus a numerous amount of stage appearances.

This car had no previous owners except him. He named all his cars and this one was called Tojo after the indestructable Japanese Emperor.

In that case I'm going to buy the worse possible Gilbern Genie I can find and call it 'Longshanks' after the indestructible English castle builder.

This was one of the very few things I disliked about it.

But it does have, in typical transcontinental fashion, oodles of chromed buttons scattered all over the place, defying any sense of logic and ergonomics.

Unmistakably an ex London Dial a Ride vehicle, I love how they just seemed to have a massive lump hacked out of the side and a proper bus-style door bodged in. The company responsible for these aberrations went by the unlikely name of Pilcher-Greene.
