Here's one of those adverts. Starts out well

 

 

SatNav, cruise control, auto wipers and lights, traction control, ABS, stability protection system, multi-function dashboard, driver/passenger/side, rear parking sensors etc etc – a high-spec car for its day (and even today!).

 

 

Goes down hill

 

 

It’s a non-runner due to the timing belt jamming; the auxiliary drive belt frayed, wrapped itself around the bottom pulley and consequently got pulled up behind the timing cover.

 

Oh right, have you tried fixing it?

 

I’ve tried fitting a new timing belt but don’t have the correct tooling to re-time the engine properly,

 

Hmm, doesn;t sound good.

 

 

I had new tyres fitted to all four wheels which have done fewer than 800 miles, as you can see in the photos.

 

Okay then I could maybe breake it and sell the wheels and tyres

 

 

They aren’t holding pressure for very long just now as a result of sitting for a while

 

It's only 350 quid I suppose.

It's like some sort of bizarre magic trick. Maybe the chairs and the Focus's's's's's move round and the dog has to guess which one his ball is under?

I always kind of wonder wtf renault was thinking with these as 99% of Scenics got bought by old giffers who went to the garden centres to buy ferns or families who buy them to  spill milk and smear chocolate on the interiors. I bet neither of those groups thought I want this car but jacked up and with 4x4. Still, the seem much more appealling than a normal scenic just buy their weirdness.

Respay - ok, good. But black! FFS what is wrong with a proper colour?

 

( Would make an uber hearse actually. Just slide / tip the passenger seat forward. I'd take my last trip in that.)
