Didn't know these even existed, presumably the'V6' is just an old straight six Chevrolet or Holden lump rather than 3.8 version of the Commodore.

Wonder why it ended up in Portugal? I've got this scenario in my head invovling Nazis driving from South Africa to Lisbon to get on a ship to Brazil after the fall of apartheid , probably with a boot full of looted Jewish gold picked up from Geneva on the way.

It's the venerable 231 Stove Bolt Six born in 1937.

Mingebags and rice pudding skins rejoice, it's a BX11.

Surely that's never a 1.1?  How would it even move?

Edit: Brilliant, it really is, the venerable suitcase motor.  Wikipedia confirms:

A 1,124 cc engine, very unusual in a car of this size, was also available in countries where car tax was a direct function of engine capacity, such as Italy, Portugal and Greece. The 1.1 and 1.4 models used, in the BX till 1988, the PSA X engine (known widely as the "Douvrin" or "Suitcase Engine") the product of an earlier Peugeot/Renault joint venture, and already fitted in the Peugeot 104 and Renault 14

The 11TE model was seen by foreign motoring press as slow and uncomfortable.[citation needed]

The 1.1 L engine with engine code H1A was specially tuned for Italy, Greece and Portugal. It was fitted to the cars made from 1988 to 1993 and produced 40 kW (55 hp DIN) at 5800 rpm.

attn bernard b triggerstolf the 3rd.

This is the guy I bought my SD1 off and he was sound. He always seems to spend loads of ££ on his cars before getting shot of them.

Needs a bit of tidying but these things seem to be on the up so might be a decent buy. I'm sure Junkman will be able to spot if it's a plum/haunted just be staring into it's headlamps.

I can't spot any Ectoplasm, so it might get boring pretty quickly. 10.5:1 V8 not as easy to live with as the later one, though.

Oh, I'll give you that one, that's lovely, especially in yellow. I'd like one too although the thought of running a V8 is a bit frightening!

Sadly I'm on holiday in a few days for a week so I'm going to struggle to view anything for a week or so.

Well the clue might be the year; 1975. I think that was the year when the Portugese colonies in Southern Africa gained independance, and lost many Portugese citizens.

Note the price is only 1500 Euros in the Portugese advert! Possibly cheap because the car is in Madeira. Do fancy it though.

^ Not shipping that to Africa is like saying 'over 21s only' on a box of dinosaur-shaped chocolate cereal.

Also, I drove a Chevrolet Monte Carlo like that blue one around South Carolina for a week once.  It was comically dreadful.  Would again.

"Ecuador remapped"   " Stealing rack overalled"

This is fantastic!

More work done to it:

Toolbar bushes
All brakes overalled
Gearbox Spencer's changed

Next time my rack is stealing again, I'll sure as fuck overall it. Orange.

My car has Spencer's gearbox, too and I want to change it for a ZF.
