this poor ol' thing needs saving. it looks a fair old thing, even if it needs sils (which are included)

i dont think that an 1100 auto will be in great demand even from the mini boys...

i like allegro's even if not many other people do....$_57.JPG

I had two, an 1100 manual and 1300 auto and loved them both - utterly reliable as well.

In terms of metalwork, that will be FUCKED.

The engine's the same as in mine, as is much of the interior, but the panels are different... the badermatic should mean it will escape the attention of the ZF dog-leg gearbox-raping rally boys, so I can't imagine it'll fetch all that much. Hmm. I'll keep my eye on it. Ta for the heads-up.

The consensus on the allegro forum is that it's too salty at 550. But if you factor in that allegro wings and displacers are now made of unobtanium it's worth it

Older SAABs are pretty much unheard of over here, so this one looks pretty interesting.

oops!!!! my bad it is infact a 1275 allegro!!

it says so on the badge in the back.....

i'd not seen that, only the black looking engine. for a 1275 i was expecting to see a red cylinder head.

for extra grimness there was, towards the end in 1981-8 there was deffo a 998cc version available, following on from the launch of the metro

What sort of escaped mental patient would you need to be to spend £90 on one of these? It looks bollocks and £90 just about buys one you can drive round in FFS

Wow - I remember this last time it was on ebay/here. 8 years ago - or does that sound too long?? Anyone remember how long we've all been here?

Looks like it's picked up as many fousty growths as me since then.

There's the outside chance that the auto has been kept because it's a stronger 'box than the manual. It wouldn't (isn't, actually) my choice of transmission, but when you start turning up the heat on the engine's power output, those manual transmissions become consumable items. Om nom nom synchromesh nom bearings nom nom.

This australian guy is selling this Zetec powered xr4i turbo and a mk2 Escort for  a comparatively low price.

The advert reads "do not text I will not reply", which could well be someone out to wind up a nightshift workmate they hate by sending a sea of Ford rubbers their way or it could be someone genuinely having a clearout.
