eBay tat volume 3.

I'm trying to stay off the booze and the result is I'm bored out of my tiny little mind so have been raking through Autotrader for cheap sub 500 quid shite.

A 2 litre Petrol C5 a car I didn't know existed until a couple of weeks ago. Probably more bomb proof than the diesel version if it wasn't an auto.

I always think these looked quite smart although I can't see any of those Arab lads rushing to tear up Knightsbride in it this with a 1.6.

1.4 Astra Merit Auto. Not sure if this trumps the misery of my mates old N/A 1.7d Merit Astra he had but it has to be close.

Looks tidy though.

Now this is a seriously bargainous lump of metal for the money. It even has a load of MOT.

I guess the SR is about as sporty as these things get. I bet it goes alright though.

That Astra is about the most miserable spec you could get, it's brilliant! I just hope it's an SPi engine too so you can't even overtake anything.

My mate had an Auto Astra exactly like that while we were fixing his Pajero. The Astra was the most miserable, thirsty, boring, noisy unimaginatively designed shitbox. We both hated it, but it was very cheap and available when he needed a car. It was unsaleable, and got baled. HATEFUL.

My mates diesel one was total misery but the thing just went on and on and on until his Mrs put it out it's misery by driving it through a red light and crashing it into a fiesta.

I think the diesel one would be more miserable than a manual 1.4 but the auto bit puts the cherry on the cow pat.

Good grief. Some mightily tempting Teutonic barges in this thread. I seem to have forgotten how utterly dull my Audi 100 was. Sounded fabulous though. Five-cylinder engines are fab.

A 16-year old friend had a 1.4 Astra auto when we were at school (Mobility!). Seemed to go pretty well to be honest and put up with horrific abuse - as you'd expect! Think it did about 68,000 miles in three years and cost him a shit load in extra mileage payments...

Carb ones were worse, although, by the time you've wound up ANY 8v Astra 1.4, the HG would fail and then it'd get cubed.

I mailed the seller of that amazing HI-FI Beta. Apparently no MOT and 'carb problem' but it's a runner. I think it is a massive bargain. If I had the means to collect I'd be on my way now.

That Lancia is great!, I wonder what work needs doing to it?

At £500 I'd say it's definitely worth a punt, I've seen breakers and basket cases go for more than that. Worst case scenario, it would likely break for more than that.

If I wasn't at shite overload (and getting a bit of grief for it) I'd be getting shipley quotes for it.

"it would be a shame to just scrap it"

Those facelift MKV's are getting hard to find, I had one in 2004 a nice looker quite fancy one again. It's in Ipswich so too far for me otherwise for that money....

Bluebird hatchback 1.6 LX

My sister once had a 1989 F 1.6 LS that lacked power steering. This LX has it as standard on what is already a well equipped car for the late 80s/early 90s.

Registered in 1991, so must be one one of the last ones registered? £72k AND the dealer is keeping the licence disc on the car - expires end of October. Can't be a bad deal for £600! 8)

A couple of rare kei cars on ebay

Subaru Vivio - non turbo version, so not that quick, but 4wd.

How about the weirdest kei I've ever seen ....

At some stage someone probably paid quite a bit to have this imported

Anyone used Preloved before? It seems a bit less pikey than Gumtree but I could be wrong.

My search of a Porsche 924 brought up this lovingly* photographed example. Wonder what the wheels are from?

7429328-889-640x479.jpg

And it's nice to see a Land Rover for less than 2 grand. Perhaps we've seen the end of OMG SNOW CHAOS. Land Rovers on ebay seem to be £2500 even for a fucked example so this fucked one looks a bargain at £1500
