Known faults –

Cambelt due for replacement.  Minor coolant leak from Thermostat housing area (see photo).  Minor fluid seepage from Power Steering pump area.  N/S door mirror mounting broken & cap missing (see photo).  Gearbox has a very occasional fault of not going into gear – a firm thump on the gear selector usually cures! Air con pipe in engine bay broken – hence no air con. Drivers door seal worn – but not leaking water. Leather on drivers seat needs treating. Bulb blown in clock /radio display module. Heater blower not working on position 4 - 1, 2 & 3 are fine. Scrape marks (minor & not rusting) on n/s rear wheel arch following an argument with a post in a car park! Other age and use related minor marks on and inside car.

The owner of the XJ6 is a guy I work with in Derby - lets call him Paul, for that is his name.

He has JUST sold the SD1, which he'd had on the road for years - It was the rustyiest car I've seen with an MOT.

The reason he went to Italy in the Jag was for a charity run, and the only reason he bought it.  

His description of it is probably pretty much spot on. It looks proper rough in the flesh, but seems solid enough.  I have sat in it with the engine running only this week.

He also has an old Long wheel base petrol land rover "van". 

He's NOT married, and has not got a girlfriend, which might have something to do with the fact that his lounge is actually a workshop.

i wish i had the plums needed to take something like a series 3 XJ6 on.

 

and that Granny povvo spec, i had no idea such a thing even existed!!
