1.6 ohc will bend a valve if cambelt goes,2.0 doesn't.

My Dad got lucky with his 1.6 Cortina then - conked out, new cambelt - back to normal.  He wasn't caning it down the motorway at the time though.

Same with my dad's 1.6 Cortina - conked out, got towed home by his mate in his Sierra from the hinterland of Croftamie and kept sticking it in gear to get some brake servo/helpwith slowing down.  Timed it up, plonked a new cambelt on it, fired it up, no problems...

For once, I actually 'get' this. Lets be honest, you'd have to be so pissed to drive it that if the rozzers pulled you over you could pretend your sober by stating what car you were at the wheel of.

What a massive pile of festering knob cheese.

Not exactly shite but the advert did make me laugh...

"Here we have a Rare Focus ST 170 Estate in a great colour.Fitted with the comfort pack"

Okay, quite rare in Estate form and comfort pack too, tell me more...

"Management light is on, Light multiple scratches on corners of front bumper (pictured) Chips to rear bumper 2 car park dings in o/s/r arch, light scratches n/s"

Oh, that's a bummer - a little bit of work to do I'd say on the old bodywork and engine front. Runs "brilliant" according to the advert.

"still pulls well and feels tight and safe even at 125"

Not really selling it to me here buddy, the actual fuck were you thinking of driving like that? Has Brands Hatch moved to Staffordshire overnight?

"It will need a clutch in the future"

How come, dear seller?

"it slipped on me going up bank at a gear change at 7000 rpm"

K THX BAI.

X reg? There's something dodgy about this one.

s-l1600.jpg

Someone imported a load of W124s and C Classes that had been sitting on a dock in , I think , Malaysia.

They were 4 or 5 years old but brand new so were registered as new cars, the only giveaway externally was the number plate cut out in the boot lid, although a lot of them had new boot lids fitted. I don't know about this one but most had aircon which is a rarity on small engined E's and C's of that era.

£1* MG TF160

NO MOT  - I do not believe it will have any trouble passing.

Why not do it yerself then?

Cambelt went - clutch down, pulled over, hasn't been moved since.

Oh... ummm..

I can NOT say for certain that the valves were not bounced. It certainly didn't sound like it when it happened.

I believe that if you were to replace the cambelt it will run as before.

I need to go! you see my wife is having an extremely heavy flow...

WAIT! This vehicle does NOT demonstrate any head-gasket issues. I can not say for certain if the head and head-gasket has been upgraded. I think it has but, you will have to satisfy yourself on that one.

Sound of two feet at speed on gravel... fading etc

'THIS WOULD MAKE A GOOD RS500 COSWORTH RE-SHELL'

No it wouldn't, it'd make a good 1.6 3 door with dangly mirrors, not some fucking stupid 'whale tailed' bubble arched bag of bollocks with a stolen engine.

Rover 75 1.8T Club [READ DESCRIPTION]

Recently developed a coolant pressure problem (pressure building up in the cooling system even though coolant is at correct level, can hear hissing every time you open the coolant lid, liquid escaping through the lid at times after driving).

I need to go! you see my wife is having an extremely heavy flow...
