Yes, it is:

That's a lie. A total of 7,380 units were built of which 702 were RHD.

Consequently I now don't believe the Lord Hesketh bit either.

It is possible that it might be Hesketh's car

James Hunt certainly had one, a mate of my brothers lived near his Wimbledon house and remembers it like this.

I was very tempted to buy it when it turned up at Slades Garage in Penn, Bucks for about 7k 18 years ago, looking at the MOT history it would appear to have fallen on hard times

It is a friggin hotrod.

BTW there are rumours from my bro mates that the boot was full of porn

Long live the legend

Will this yield the kind of result I think it will?

Hopefully.

Might do.

Actually I'm looking for something post-1986 to replace the irritating and uncomfortable modern BMW for motorway duties. Currently a 1991 R129 300SL-24 is making eyes at me. Or an Alfa Brera. Or maybe an NSU Ro80. So who knows, really.

{RING RING}

'Good afternoon, Stupid and co'

'Yeah, alright love how are you fixed to do some more work for me, please?'

YOU SAY IT, WE SPRAY IT

'Ok, I want that infamous Red Indian Chief Billy Two Rivers...'

Ok, anything else...

'Yeah, give him Amy Winehouse/Sybil Fawlty's hairdo and just to just to jazz it up a bit, make sure he doesn't actually have a body, just a head shoved into a non-matching pair of wonky legs'

It'll be ready a week on Tuesday, sir, thank you....

'Moon reported it rode, handled and stopped surprising well.'

I don't care if Jupiter said it sounded like Mozart fucking a horse, it's still shit.

'JOHNNY CASH TRIBUTE'

That's pretty apt because I'd rather my ring was on fire than own this.

1993 AUSTIN MAESTRO ULTRA CLASSIC BRITISH ENGINEERING SPECIAL

"Everytime he went out in the Maestro, other road users were that heavily distracted by the sheer beauty of this vehicle that they crashed and died."

Quite so.  When it was £10k (which is still well over budget) I was very, very frisky about that.  But now it's at £28k (reserve not met), and needing work, sadly I'm outgunned.

How about that CX above, then?

'THIS IS THE "NEW CLASSIC" CAR'

It's a new class of fucking awful, that's what it is.

'Sometimes, when I'm with my son in the car, I could even hear the children saying to their parents - "Wow !!! mummy (or daddy) look at this beautiful car (or even some of them say gorgeous car)".

It's a good job Hans Christian Andersen is dead, you'd have blown him out of the water writing bollocks like that.
