For some reason Focus Mk2 Estates are like rocking horse shit. One would be ideal for me but finding the elusive petrol Focus Estate sub £1500 is proving bloody hard work.

@sierramanhere's two I found, the blue one is at a garage in Wakefield, the silver one is at a garage on Canvey Island

I was just looking within 25 miles of Sheffield. Not sure I can be arsed to go to Canvey Island though it’s about 5 hours from my house!

Which pez engine were you looking at? The one at Wakefield might be worth a look if a 2.0 is any good to you. When you are ready to buy if you want someone to go with you give me a shout, I don't mind being a second pair of eyes.

Yeah I’m hanging on a bit, I’m halfway through some work on the house and a busy time at work. I was going to go with a manual ideally petrol, ideally a 1.6 or a 2.0. The 1.8 is prone to spaffing it’s piston rings which is game over. I’d have a diesel at a push but only the 1.8TD.

I'll keep an eye out and let you know about any I see.

I've noticed a knocking sound coming from the n/s/f corner on some bumps, any ideas what could be causing it?

A bit of googling suggests it could be the lower control arm or drop link top mount.

I'm told it's an easy job, will look in my Haynes manual when I get in.

Very easy, use a pair of lock jaw pliers on the flats at the back to hold it and stop it spinning.

Henry clicked over 197k on the way into work this morning, no picture as I was on the A63 at the time

Missing my old Mk2 reading this, it continues to live elsewhere in the family though so I occassionally see it! Got a super fancy but not terribly exciting MK3 Titanium X with the 1.6 turbo lump under the bonnet.

What's the Mk3 like to drive?

It's very nice inside with all the gizmo's and things, but the handling and steering feel isn't quite on par with the MK2, although it does retain the independent rear suspension unlike the latest MK4. The engine is the best bit, goes like the clappers with the 1.6 EcoBoost under the bonnet, and they remap up to 230bhp with only an intercooler added. Makes the N/A units in the Mk2 (especially the 1.6) feel very outdated and pedestrian. Overall it's definitely a step up from the Mk2 in almost every department, bar the handling really. Oh and it's maybe not quite as good looking to some people, although I feel it looks better than at least the MK2 pre-facelift, which is now very dated looking but I do think the MK2 facelift is still very fresh looking.

Treated Henry to some new wiper blades after work as the drivers side one was fucked. Much better.

Just realised Henry's birthday was 2 days ago going by build date. Bollocks I forgot to celebrate.

Henry booked into the garage on Tuesday to get the knocking from the front sorted out.

I've been told on another forum that the ST suspension bushes might fit and last better, can anyone confirm whether this is true or not?
