The_Equalizer Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 It was a good day out though, I'd certainly go again. I reckon the Bentley T1 was a good buy as it was up with a full MoT, didn't look full of wob, and I watched the new owner drive off in serene comfort. Could've shat itself 3 miles down the road of course! Looks like a dealer thought the T-Type a good buy. It's popped up again here: 1968 Bentley T1 - Williams Classics Nice profit if it goes out the door at anywhere near that.
wuvvum Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 For anyone who doesn't feel like they can wait another three weeks for their next dose of East Anglian classic auctioneering, there is a classic auction at Wymondham next Saturday. It's a completely different kettle of fish to KL, much smaller and the cars tend to be lower end (a bit like KL used to be before Clarkson & co showed up, in fact), but there's usually a bit of autojumble (including the indefatigable Margaret Motors, still selling overpriced classic car handbooks from the back of her LT van even though she must be at least 140 by now), and there are a few potential gems in the catalogue. And for lovers of two-wheeled chod - it's only a fugging Salient! http://www.eama-norwich.co.uk Semi-C, RobT, Squire_Dawson and 1 other 4
Brodders Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 That does look like a decent auction, with some nice cars going through. It is a shame that I am working next Saturday, as it would have been worth a trip to compare it to Kings Lynn. It looks like there are some interesting lots going through Kings Lynn though. This bronze Maxi could be of interest to some of us on here, and has no reserve. https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/saturday-13th-april-2019/1978-austin-maxi-1750-hl/ This 2.8 Granada looks very smart, but will undoubtedly have high levels of Ford Scene Tax levied upon it. https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/saturday-13th-april-2019/1983-ford-granada-28gl-auto-mkii/ And I hope this low mileage jelly-mould Passat will escape the fate of being pineappled. https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/saturday-13th-april-2019/1991-vw-passat-18l-injection/ Squire_Dawson 1
somewhatfoolish Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 2.9 XJ40 with spanish gears; that's nailed-on rocking horse poo shite right there.
Brodders Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 I plan on it, but probably won't make it until the afternoon when things are already going through.
barmatt Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Bump - anyone going on Sat? Can't do this one. school holidays have started so can't the the day off.
SiC Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 That Dolly Sprint really is winking at me. Thankfully it is a nearly 4 hour journey to get there from here.
wuvvum Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 I once got from Bristol to Norwich (so further than KL) in 2h45 without driving like too much of a cock. Although that was leaving at 10pm on Boxing Day so the roads were pretty much dead. And before the Smart Motorway upgrades* on the M4 / M25. SiC 1
RobT Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 I'll try and come along to this, assuming I wake up in time. I did consider bringing the Metro, but the forecast says -1 overnight in Kings Lynn so the roads will probably be salted to feck. wuvvum 1
somewhatfoolish Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Shonky old kitcar, therefore shite; wood.
RobT Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 I'm looking forward to seeing this homebrew effort tomorrow. Wonder what it'll make. https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/saturday-13th-april-2019/1965-austin-mini-6-wheel-pick-up/ wuvvum, MorrisItalSLX and Amishtat 3
RobT Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 This minty looking, 13,000 mile Clubman has a modest estimate. But then it does have the abysmal auto 'box. https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/saturday-13th-april-2019/1979-austin-morris-mini-clubman-auto/ MorrisItalSLX and ProgRocker 2
RobT Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Bike shite. https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/saturday-13th-april-2019/1982-honda-cb250-n-superdream/ Same as the 250 Superdream my dad had back in the day. Fat_Pirate and purplebargeken 2
meggersdog Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Leaving in 15 minutes. Should I pin a beige carnation to my lapel so people know who I am ? somewhatfoolish 1
95 quid Peugeot Posted April 13, 2019 Author Posted April 13, 2019 Could someone have a quick look at the Renault Caravelle for me please and let me general condTa
ProgRocker Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 I keep meaning to go to this auction one day.... Holy cow, there's a CX!! https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/saturday-13th-april-2019/1987-citroen-cx25-prestige-auto/
wuvvum Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Just arrived. Amishtat, somewhatfoolish, Six-cylinder and 3 others 6
RobT Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Could someone have a quick look at the Renault Caravelle for me please and let me general condTaHonest enough, a bit rough around the edges. Fresh looking underseal and hammerite underneath... Can't view the engine mind. ProgRocker, purplebargeken, Cardinal Wolseley and 1 other 4
95 quid Peugeot Posted April 13, 2019 Author Posted April 13, 2019 Cheers for that. Has it gone through yet
Brodders Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Not sold yet. It is lot 260 and 167 has just gone through, so it will be a little bit longer before we see the Sprint go through.
purplebargeken Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 We need live updates as to what is going through and how much lol. Brodders and somewhatfoolish 2
SiC Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Not sure I really want to know. If under £5.5k I'd be wishing I was there!
SiC Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 This minty looking, 13,000 mile Clubman has a modest estimate. But then it does have the abysmal auto 'box. https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/saturday-13th-april-2019/1979-austin-morris-mini-clubman-auto/ mini.jpgPlease note: this car has a gearbox fault Possibly why its estimate is so low. Perfect contender for a 1098cc retrofit! purplebargeken 1
RobT Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 The consensus amongst us was the gearbox is probably fine, they're just not used to how shit they are... wuvvum, Brodders and SiC 3
RobT Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 I was tempted by this T-series manual Sterling. I even bothered to get a bidding card, but sold for £250 above my meagre £700 limit. No mega bargs today really, or none in Autoshite territory anyway. Six-cylinder and somewhatfoolish 2
Brodders Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Not sure I really want to know. If under £5.5k I'd be wishing I was there!I very much doubt it would go for less than that considering the strong prices everything else was going for today. Plus quite a few people were having a decent look whilst we were there, so there would have been a bit of competition.
