Planes trains and automobile collectioning.

One thing I fail to understand, why would one pay more to get on the plane early, thus spending longer in a roasting claustrophobic tube?

Wait until the very end of the queue, you'll have no hassle and be spared the pain of folk clambering over you and dropping bags on your head from a height.

always get on last always - if seat is cheap buy seat at back

Well, the cat is out of the bag. I am in McDonald's, awaiting the hedgehog's arrival.

...and a very pleasant Scottish man has given me an envelope full of money :)

Couldn't stop to chat for long, sadly, as there was a train due for my journey home. His will be an awful lot longer than mine though...

At services North of Bicester, so making good progress.

Yep, this thing is very nice! I've only given it one squirt but can confirm the assessment of "it goes very fast indeed" to be accurate.

Tiredness has gotten the better of me at Lancaster services, going to go for an hours kip.

Are the Phill Collins and Ibiza tapes a clue?

Are you going somewhere warm?

Newcastle, no one ever wears a jacket on a night out.

I actually know it as Forton, but wasn't sure if I'd made that up in my head.

Anyway, I got home just after 8 this morning, this after being out the house since 1pm the previous day with no sleep.

I think that schedule was a tad ambitious, I was still fine to drive but it was pretty gruelling. There were a couple of stretches of motorway closed where I had to divert off in convoy with lorries for what seemed like an eternity.

The car though, a great steed for the job, it cruises effortlessly, the ride is like SMH said somewhat firm but as far as I could tell its no worse than any modern German saloon and its certainly a planted and composed car. I drove sensibly given the scenario, but it can definitely shift when it needs to and in a very usable way.

I've not dug into it yet, but it's very presentable too and looks pretty mean in black with those wheels. My work might not even ask me to park it round the back when they're having guests.

I've still only had about an hour and a half's sleep as I had a guy coming to buy my Suzuki, one in, one out! Anyway, to bed for a kip.

Very glad you made it safe and sound, I was a little worried but it's certainly a good car for the job!

I also know it as Forton but from a small child in the 70s it was always referred to as Tracey Island by my Dad. Which was the only funny thing I remember him saying.

Due to a scotrail fuck up, I am a bus wanker.

I can't be the only one who misread that scrotal.

Can I?

Good work, I loved mine. You bringing it tomorrow night?

I'm not sure if I'll be there, if I am it will be!

Well bought.  Loved both my 9-5 Aeros, especially the earlier one.  Would buy another in a heartbeat if I had space.

Brimmed this yesterday so we'll see how sore she is on the old motor spirit.

It just ticked over onto 140k this morning when I was on my way to work.

By Christ it's lovely. It feels really tight and there's no interior squeaks or rattles. The seats are very comfortable and the heat was lovely this morning. Even the Climate Control is clever enough to revert to single side control when there's nobody in your passenger seat. Noticed a couple of nice little touches like that.

I've owned two other autos before this one and really didn't like them with the torque converter slack but this really has the grunt to drive it.

It is very, very fast. I'm naturally predisposed to drive in a relaxed and economical manner, but it's nice to have it on tap on the occasion it's needed.

My commute is 40 miles each way, it's not really viable to do it in this every day. It's going to take extreme discipline to come out and get in the C1 on the cold dark mornings.

I also think it looks really smart and is different enough to still be interesting. I've driven mainly PSA or Japanese cars over my driving career to date and it's nice to be in something that just has a completely different feel.

It looks very smart, have you been out with the polish and tyre slick?

Cheers! I haven't, but I did take it round to the friendly fellows at the car wash.

I even went for the #2 service which includes a wipe of the door shuts and cleaning of glass instead of my usual #1 splash and dash.
