fatharris Posted July 20, 2018 Author Posted July 20, 2018 1.8 Twin Cam? From the land of the rising temp gauge sun? Inappropriate? My money is on an MX5. A bit cliche and generic, I know, but I've wanted one for donkeys. Can't wait though. CGSB, stephen01, clayts450 and 2 others 5
purplebargeken Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 Could be entertaining. Looking forward to the cleaning tales.
SiC Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 A bit cliche and generic, I know, but I've wanted one for donkeys. Can't wait though. All MX5 are ace, no matter the generation of them. In 10-20 years time it will seem crazy how cheap we currently get them. Probably will be the MGB of our time. Datsuncog and stephen01 2

fatharris Posted July 20, 2018 Author Posted July 20, 2018 Which vintage? My Mk1 was probably the most fun I have ever had in a car. That's pleasing news to hear. It's taken me over ten years of driving, but I've finally got my POP UP HEADLAMPS. Bitches love 'em. chodweaver, purplebargeken, Stanky and 5 others 8
fatharris Posted July 20, 2018 Author Posted July 20, 2018 1. Have kids. 2. Stare into abyss. 3. Panic. 4. Sprots car. 5. relief.Gonna sprot so hard. It made sense in a weird way, classic insurance was very reasonable, and the difference in MPG from Herman means the outlay is quite small really. I'd been offered it by a friend at a very reasonable price. The downside can be summed up in three words, which I'll elaborate on later. Meanwhile, the trolley is here! Finally! dome and Jim Bell 2
Jim Bell Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 Thats the BEST ones to have. Mk1 Eunices/MX5s are the absolute dogs actual goonards. Im excited just to see it.
Tickman Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 The downside can be summed up in three words, which I'll elaborate on later. 'A bit* rusty' is three words...

Supernaut Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 3 words unique to this car? Smells of dog Smells of wee Smells of poo Covered in jizz Wait, wait, waaaaaait! An MX-5 from Wales? It's not mikey_monkfish's one, is it? In that case, the three words would be: CUT IN HALF. fatharris, Skizzer, Datsuncog and 1 other 4
fatharris Posted July 20, 2018 Author Posted July 20, 2018 Not a big fan of the tea today, got myself a pastry though. Only another 45 minutes on this particular train. Piss poor phone signal is doing my head in.

mitsisigma01 Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 Mx5 being obtained on the day when the sun gives in to the rain , you get to test the leaky roof immediately, top timing ! My pop up headlighted one has never had a FTP , it's had a few IDWG , I don't wanna go moments but minor tweeking and persuasions and she has tootled along , mine is looking ropey and sounding rough sometimes but she won't die gracefully. GLWTN/A
Jim Bell Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 Is it that one I saw somewhere with a big FUCK VERY OFF spoiler nailed to the boot deck?
fatharris Posted July 20, 2018 Author Posted July 20, 2018 This train is absolutely crammed. It also transpired I was sat opposite my correct seat, so I (rightly so) ejected myself. Even the ends of the train are jam packed. But not the join. The join is empty. The join is my domain. 17 minutes left on this train. Twiggy, chodweaver, clayts450 and 5 others 8
Jim Bell Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 You look a bit like a homeless Borrower taking shelter from a cat inside an accordian. fatharris, Dirk Diggler, dome and 16 others 19
fatharris Posted July 20, 2018 Author Posted July 20, 2018 In a true show of Britishness, in the final five minutes on the train, about half a dozen passengers (myself included) were discussing the correct jam/cream configuration on scones. #CreamOnTop Bristol achieved, onwards to Bath shortly. Jim Bell, clayts450 and Skizzer 3

Got a lift back to Chats' place to admire the Saab 900 project, and sit down to a smashing full English. However, it's now time to get back on the road. Time for a new steed: We've also gained another person in this escapade! BACK TO BATH WE GO! mrbenn, Jim Bell, Conrad D. Conelrad and 1 other 4
