Some of these suggestions are great, probably should have bought them instead.

However, we have an winrar. a2ea536f3de1966dbcfa6489788bd5b5.jpg

Made it home fine at 49.5mpg, based on the fuel saving along vs the awful citroen it will pay for itself in no time.

If it was the gopping mk1 I would say it was definitely shite, with the "squashed Stilo" front end I'm not so sure.

I feel honour* that my guess was so good:)

Good luck with it and get the boost turned up!

I really like these mk2 multiplas! Had a mk1 jtd that always used to scream at me that the oil was overfilled....errrrr no it wasn’t....ok it could have been

Straight into the cars you never knew existed thread for me, had no idea there was a mk2 multipla!

Because Mk1 = interesting ugly and mk2 = dull in comparison.

Can you bolt a set of Mk1 front panels on please?  Please!

Are the holes in the scuttle for the top headlamps still there under the inflated bonnet?

Negatory.

It seems like an awful lot of expensive retooling to make the car look like a Stilo.

I guess it was a response to the near universal criticism of the looks of the original.

They probably thought it would sell more with a normal face.

It did not.

Which is a shame, because they are both cleverly practcal and a great steer.

I rented a metallic orange Mk1 once while I was briefly carless and offered to give a friend and his family a lift in it, can’t remember why, but his daughters refused to get in it because it was so ugly. I think the little one might actually have cried.

Verdict: big thumbs up.

I don't think any Multipla could be described as anything but shite.

Although I have to admit to preferring the podgy, goggly eyed original over the stern, sad looking facelift.

Well I think this was an excellent buy and is definitely future Autoshite.

They'll be a good few mk1s saved due to they're weird fronts but all the Mk2, the very few there are, will just disappear.

Besides they are good cars. Only driven one in a car park but used to get driven around in one every week years ago and it was nice*.

I was in Spain in the late nineties, I saw a mk1 before they were available over here and it blew my tiny mind.

Just really clever cars. Fiat's get such a bad rep amongst the general public but I've had a few and been involved with several and rate them highly. My first car was an unobwith the 999cc fire in it and it was so superior to the stone age engines in my mates novas fiestas and polos. Didn't look as good though!!
