Project 1989 Honda Civic Shuttle

I have been on the look out for one of these for a while, spotted one a couple of hours away on ebay so off I go went!

One Bus...

Nice Train Station!

Two Bus...

Long Lane...

Alpacas! 


Then I bought it.

Seems alright! £650 65k miles, plenty old person who needs to give up driving dings and dents but seems solid enough rust wise.



Previous owner left me some presents.

Engine looked pretty dirty but no cracks or leaks.

Then today, taxed it at 12 and got clamped at 3:30!


It drove back the 150 or so miles without a hitch, though the power steering seems to have a leak coming from the cooler or a hose related to it, no big deal!
It's pretty uncomfortable compared to my previous car (Volo 740) but I like it's somewhat awkward appearance. Gonna shake it down for a few months and see if it deserves a bit of work!

I hope whoever put that clamp on removed it as quickly!

 

Good wee motor though, always had a soft spot for this era of Civic and that looks like it doesn’t need much more than a good clean

Clamped for no tax or dodgy parking ?

I wish, of course I didn't notice the clamping happen as I was indoors waiting on a parcel that never turned up! Then the 'pound' was closed when I tried to phone them. So still clamped now, need to get on the phone to them as soon as they open.

Clamped for no tax, but it was taxed when they clamped it! Though I guess not when I drove it home, I assumed it was still on the previous owners tax as it was when I checked a couple days before going to view it, they must have sorned it in between times, not really sure where I stand. I was wrong but not when they got me.

Make sure you're on the line the minute they open, once they're clamped they tend to be gone the following day.

Bus One has disconcertingly smiley faces in the overhead things.  Nice purchase, these are great little things and the weird shape of them just adds to the appeal.

I think I saw that one too, it was a bit older and a looked a bit different around the rear end.

I kinda thought they were an 'estate' but the rear space is pretty small, not checked out how much useable space there is with the rear seats down yet.

Definitely gonna follow this one. All Civics of this era (incl. the previous and next gen of yours) were fantastic cars, and the the Shuttle is one of the more special ones out of the bunch. Hope to see some work done on it soon!
