Spottedlaurel Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Fiat 125 pretty impressive too - I'd assumed it was an FSO from Youtube videos I was looking at this morning.
bramz7 Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 I caught a glimpse of two large Datsuns on their way presumably to this on the M6 yesterday. And an absolute dog of an A55. it looked like the body and floor had parted ways many decades ago.
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 I caught a glimpse of two large Datsuns on their way presumably to this on the M6 yesterday. You do see some pretty damn impressive rust. And some stuff you don't see until the inch of filler has fallen off. danthecapriman, MorrisItalSLX, Junkman and 2 others 5
steve28 Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 We got there for 9am got track side parking and had a very relaxed day walking round as they were all coming in and chatting to people we know, watched all the races and waited till most had gone before leaving without having to queue up to do so then a steady 80 mile drive home.great day 3rd one ive been to and cant wait for next years. Squire_Dawson and Junkman 2
Junkman Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 Okay, here is my account. This Shitrun has shown up at least once before and is seemingly indestructible. Nicely presented P4: So was this Zodiac estate: A Riley Adelphi: Immaculately prepared '39 Chrysler: danthecapriman, Squire_Dawson, eddyramrod and 2 others 5
Junkman Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 Pair of Tinas: Notha good looking P4: Slightly frilly: Delightfully shonky: Shite: Politically correct: Farinas. There was a Farina only race. There were several P6es. Squire_Dawson, Conrad D. Conelrad, 59Impala and 1 other 4
Junkman Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 There was the usual array of Rivas. This was probably the cleanest one. First time I've seen one of those being raced. There were two of them. Lots of P5s. Would probably have yielded the sunroof bits for Alcyonedong's: Two races were actually won by Maxis: MOAR frilly Farinas: 330 Cedric: 3500S: Didn't run the V8 though. Note passenger floor. When it flipped on its side in one race, we could see inside of the roof. 59Impala, danthecapriman and Squire_Dawson 3
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Some truly dreadful old shit being bangered there - wish I'd come now and stood the Kraut bird up. Ho Hum. I spy a FWD Taunus there as well as the front end of a Mark II Jaguar. Pity about the Taunus.
Junkman Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 The already much featured 125: Nutha P5: OMGJRG Imperial (no, these Imperials aren't banned): The Dutch brought a (proudly RWD) Badewanne: And a P2 Rekord: Squire_Dawson, 59Impala and danthecapriman 3

Junkman Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 Autoshite House Team: Shitewagon: Mr Mint again produced some impeccable arse end engined East Bloc chod: This DS 420 actually won a heat: Team Sour from Ireland was out in force, as usual: They had two 30s Humbers in their luggage: Someone slightly less concerned with the bloody oil pressure of this OMGMGBGTBYMG than Sic: I think I saw Squire Dawson having a bit of a tear in his eyes alright: danthecapriman, 59Impala, Squire_Dawson and 1 other 4
Junkman Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 Oh no, not another Farina: Not sure what these guys' other hobby is: This looked like was barely holding together while standing still, probably because it was barely holding together while standing still: The aforementioned 130: 59Impala, danthecapriman and Squire_Dawson 3
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 So was this Zodiac estate: That's a Zephyr 6 m8.
Junkman Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 Doomed P5: DE 36 hearse (until I stand corrected): A125 Sheerline: A Shadow of its former self: And another: One of the Irish Humbers was actually a Daimler: Talbot 90: Pure class: Another Golde bits donor: The Plah had left the car: 59Impala, Squire_Dawson and danthecapriman 3
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 The Dutch brought a (proudly RWD) Badewanne: Arse, u got me. The P4 was V4 and FWD. Junkman 1
Junkman Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 Interesting W126 conversion that sadly wasn't raced: Oh. The end. danthecapriman and 59Impala 2
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Was 4 cyl. tough. 6 cyl front end, not that it makes much difference now. I liked the Mark III Fords since I saw one in The Ipcress File. Junkman 1
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Interesting W126 conversion that sadly wasn't raced: Oh. The end. There should be a law against not racing those horrors.
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 A handful of aftermath pix: Still looking better than the airbrushed tat Cavcraft finds on ebay. Fairly straight Ital. Zigzag Marina. Bolt on panels make for a pretty wreck. Junkman, danthecapriman, Squire_Dawson and 1 other 4
primeradoner Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Was 4 cyl. tough. In the unders class you are only allowed 1600 crossflow or pinto engine swaps if the original lump is gone. If he had put a V6 in it he would have to race in the overs class and he already had a car for that.
fordperv Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Here's some more Squire_Dawson, Junkman, 59Impala and 1 other 4

Lankytim Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 I remember that hatchback Merc appearing on eBay a while ago (unless there’s more than one) the hatch section is from a Rover 800 Alexg 1
chaseracer Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 I remember that hatchback Merc appearing on eBay a while ago (unless there’s more than one) the hatch section is from a Rover 800 There was one at the 2CV world meeting in Scotland with the rear end off a Renault Express van...
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Surprised to see the dash still in the 3500S.Me too, but the dash was also still present in the Taunus and Minx. The latter was a genuine low mile car - which had been parked in a wet barn for an age, with predictable consequences. danthecapriman, Dave_Q and 59Impala 3
danthecapriman Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Looked a brilliant day! There’s some epic rust and filler work there too. Fair play to em getting the cars running, prepped and actually having the balls to race them too.I still find it amazing these guys still manage to find some of this stuff too. Can’t be many more years left where that sort of variety of weird and obscure chod comes out for meets like this. Was the big Chrysler the only yank of the day?
