2001 Maestro!.

Top spot Trig :) That is a rare-as-rocking-horse-droppings Apple Maestro (screwed together by a garage in Bury St Edmunds from Bulgarian CKD kits re-imported after the attempt to build them there failed) and should also have lhd wipers for bonus shite points.

[confession mode] I'm not as smart as I look :( I thought it was a Ledbury Maestro (there are still a few running around in Herefordshire) but that info turned up while I was checking, as it didn't have a Herefrord reg [/ confession mode]

That story about the Minor is really pleasing; I felt the same when I spotted my grandad's old Daimler. If ever there was a case for cars not being plate-raped then this is it.

Posted

Yes it was a nice story Mash, it was quite a shock when dicky messaged me about it and even more so to get a message back from the 1st owners son!

Alf your right about that being an Apple made one as it had Apple and some numbers (2001 i think) on a sticker on the back window, the two old boys in it pulled into the local holiday caravan park.

This 1955 Minor was his weekend toy and used 'for best'.

Well after a surprise PM from hawkeyed Angrydicky, He's found someone that's been looking for this Minor since 1959 as it belonged to their grandfather! .

I've fired off a email to the website owner after the email address of the chap trying to find it, It's quite exciting!

What a great story. Something like this sometimes gives me hope my Dads old Sterling might be lurking around somewhere, though I doubt it very much.

Great spots aswell Trig.

Amazing what you see out and about, isn't it?

I have a slight feeling this it's on it's way to becoming barried up, or scene'd.

The P-plate VW camper...foreign built under license I'd imagine? Perhaps that Brazilian outfit churning out the 60s remakes has something to do with it.

One or two Framlingham area spots I recognise there! For some reason I didn’t stop for the Beetle plant pot, glad you rectified this.

Accord 3dr looks nice. I really liked the red 1.8EX I had like that, sadly it’s pretty much the only one of my recent cars that’s gone missing.

I got chatting to the lady who lives here as she was watering her plants, They are her husband's old cars that he's planning on restoring but he's to ill now to fix them, I can see them getting scrapped.

There's also a Thames 107E at the back that he's owned for years travelling all over europe in, that's pretty rough now though.

That Volvo Amazon estate gets about. It rang a bell, and having checked my Flickr uploads I’ve seen it twice now (and have only just realised it’s the same car on my own photos).

Interesting shots of the stuff going for export. Do you know roughly where they’re off to?

I haven't the foggiest SL, There's always cars going out on the back of lorries like that, Mostly old Mercedes C-Classes and Transit Vans, I'm keeping my eyes open for Mr Bickles Datsun at the moment.

That Maestro appeared there about 4 weeks or so ago, it's a couple of mins from where I live... You must've been to Portman cars then to snap that Transit bus coz it's usually round the corner from there?

Posted

Yes thats where i went, I've never seen it about before, The yard with the Marina is just the corner from there as well.

Posted

Hmmm, I think I know where you mean... Old fashioned looking (green painted) garage, no name on the front?
