320touring Posted July 18, 2018 Author Posted July 18, 2018 Was just in convoy with you in the rover for a short while! Well, you or another beige GSA.I thought that was you! 320touring Posted August 27, 2018 Author Posted August 27, 2018 Drove the Oxford over at 60mph, came home pegged at 130km/h #racecar dozeydustman 1
320touring Posted August 27, 2018 Author Posted August 27, 2018 In other news, this has spent the evening assisting in a buying trip for a mate. Turned out the seller's dad had GSA/CXs when he was growing up , so he spent plenty time fawning over it whilst the car he was selling was poked and prodded:)
320touring Posted October 15, 2018 Author Posted October 15, 2018 This decided to stop the drivers windows winding back up tonight.. Luckily it's out on courtesy car duties with my Bro, and he is one of those people with patience for fiddly mechanical repairs. All back together and working now.. davehedgehog31, HMC and Split_Pin 3
Stinkwheel Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 Drove the Oxford over at 60mph, came home pegged at 130km/h #racecar Am I reading this right? The GSA was pegged at 130km/h? Ami understanding it right? (see what I did there) Pegged means flat out? If it does, your GSA has something wrong, all 1299cc GSA's i've driven are faster than that.
320touring Posted October 16, 2018 Author Posted October 16, 2018 Am I reading this right? The GSA was pegged at 130km/h? Ami understanding it right? (see what I did there) Pegged means flat out? Fu'Gutty is beyond there, not that I have ever* done that Stinkwheel and Six-cylinder 2
Stinkwheel Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 Pegged is like pinned - as in held at.. Fu'Gutty is beyond there, not that I have ever* done that Ah I see, I've been schooled and now feel foolish for being hard of understanding
320touring Posted October 16, 2018 Author Posted October 16, 2018 Ah I see, I've been schooled and now feel foolish for being hard of understanding I wouldn't - I talk funny:) chaseracer and Stinkwheel 2
davehedgehog31 Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 Spotted this on faceache Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk egg and 320touring 2
320touring Posted October 16, 2018 Author Posted October 16, 2018 Nice one, I shall investigate with my bro to see how recent it is:)
320touring Posted October 27, 2018 Author Posted October 27, 2018 Latest on this is that it had a puncture yesterday evening - I have had pictures in.. I suspect all tyres on the car are older than this century, and have had many long summers down in the south of France before the car was imported in 2015. The car is shorn with 145R15 - Michelin XZXs Having had a scout on teh web, it looks that the available XZXs are over a ton each, and were manufactured in 2013 Looks like Nankangs it is then... RobT, Lacquer Peel, Tickman and 1 other 4
SiC Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 I think these are new tyres. https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/145sr15-michelin-xzx.html If you can stomach it... Edit: Not sure what's going on with the price on set of 4?! Works out as 75 quid a tyre.
320touring Posted October 27, 2018 Author Posted October 27, 2018 Fuggin 'ell That gets 4x new tyres, new spheres and LHM plus the cambelt replaced! Tickman 1
SiC Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 Crazy people pay that for originality. Just so the tyre walls have original manufacturer and original tread. Even if technology and performance has progressed on. Lacquer Peel 1
320touring Posted October 27, 2018 Author Posted October 27, 2018 Crazy people pay that for originality. Just so the tyre walls have original manufacturer and original tread. Even if technology and performance has progressed on.Aye, I'll wager the Nankangs will be better performers
Eddie Honda Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 Crazy people pay that for originality. Just so the tyre walls have original manufacturer and original tread. There's a bit more to it than that. And yes, I must be crackers. Squire_Dawson 1
Eddie Honda Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 Also £120 a pop is cheap when compared to the price of TRXs. Tadhg Tiogar and 320touring 2
320touring Posted October 27, 2018 Author Posted October 27, 2018 Also £120 a pop is cheap when compared to the price of TRXs.Yes, I was concerned re that with my old CX.. That said, 4x XZX at £120 a pop would be 80% of the purchase price of the GSA
Eddie Honda Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 It's a consumable, don't think about it. richardthestag, Squire_Dawson, dozeydustman and 2 others 5
320touring Posted October 27, 2018 Author Posted October 27, 2018 It's a consumable, don't think about it. Hah! I have the Oxford needing tyres too. Buy shares in tyre leader;)
mercrocker Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 When I saw the thread title update I feared the worst...... Thank God its only a tyre! richardthestag and 320touring 2
320touring Posted October 28, 2018 Author Posted October 28, 2018 When I saw the thread title update I feared the worst...... Thank God its only a tyre! That update would likely contain the word "oooze" Six-cylinder and mercrocker 2
Six-cylinder Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 That update would likely contain the word "oooze" I feared it was an oooze too. My GS is on Nankangs that I bought for it a couple of years ago. Seem fine but I do think the dry grip level is no better than the old mixture I had on it and squeal sets in earlier. I only do a handfull of miles a year so not that important to me as long as it is safe and usable. 320touring 1
