I thought that was you! Having no rear mirror meant I was struggling to see who was driving - toot the next time:)

The Rover looked well on the road:)

In other news, this has spent the evening assisting in a buying trip for a mate.

Turned out the seller's dad had GSA/CXs when he was growing up , so he spent plenty time fawning over it whilst the car he was selling was poked and prodded:)

This decided to stop the drivers windows winding back up tonight..

Luckily it's out on courtesy car duties with my Bro, and he is one of those people with patience for fiddly mechanical repairs.

All back together and working now..

Am I reading this right? The GSA was pegged at 130km/h? Ami understanding it right? (see what I did there)  Pegged means flat out?  If it does, your GSA has something wrong, all 1299cc GSA's i've driven are faster than that.

I suspect all tyres on the car are older than this century, and have had many long summers down in the south of France before the car was imported in 2015.

The car is shorn with 145R15 - Michelin XZXs

Having had a scout on teh web, it looks that the available XZXs are over a ton each, and were manufactured in 2013

Looks like Nankangs it is then...

That gets 4x new tyres, new spheres and LHM plus the cambelt replaced!

Crazy people pay that for originality. Just so the tyre walls have original manufacturer and original tread. Even if technology and performance has progressed on.

Aye, I'll wager the Nankangs will be better performers

There's a bit more to it than that. And yes, I must be crackers. ;)

Also £120 a pop is cheap when compared to the price of TRXs.

Yes, I was concerned re that with my old CX..

That said, 4x XZX at £120 a pop would be 80% of the purchase price of the GSA

It's a consumable, don't think about it.

That update would likely contain the word "oooze"

I feared it was an oooze too.

My GS is on Nankangs that I bought for it a couple of years ago. Seem fine but I do think the dry grip level is no better than the old mixture I had on it and squeal sets in earlier. I only do a handfull of miles a year so not that important to me as long as it is safe and usable.
