That Tatra! Nice.

Browsing property listings just to pass the time I saw a house for sale on Down Street in Dummer. Sounds like a great place to live...

Just stumbled across this:

About a mid 90s rep running a Maestro Clubman D - absolutely hilarious, especially the moment where he says his "heart sunk" when you know he meant to say he smashed up the room in a furious anger, which later led him to co-operating in this documentary equivalent of a resignation letter

That was a great series, I saw it first time round. Somebody on here checked out the registration numbers, the Maestro didn't last long at all, in fact I think it might even have been off the road by the time this aired.

My Dad's side of the family have always bought new or nearly new cars, except for when circumstances have meant something older had to be had. It was with some surprise then that I found out one of my relatives has this lovely slab of gold. To be fair, when I met Fred and Beryl today for the first time in what must have been at least ten years, they did strike me as the sort that might have a Jag or a Rover 75, so for them to be tooling about in a Sterling was a very pleasant surprise indeed. Fred and Beryl were just the sort of pleasant couple you'd expect to own a Sterling too being well turned out and polite to everyone and just as pleasant to be in the company of as their golden barge.

Wow, what a lovely looking car! Same age as mine on an R-plate and same KV6 engine. If I ever get my R-reg Sterling back I hope to turn into a well turned out, pleasant bloke gently wafting in one of these listening to Classic FM. At the moment I'm a rather stressed and angry bloke trying to get around in a Micra.....

Just arrived in Malta for a suprise easter break. Wow it's the land that time forgot. I shall be posting one hell of a tat spotting thread when I get back and have downloaded the pictures. It is a shitest's heaven so much crap to look at and never enough time. Hopefully I can get some tat spotting done in between all the holiday type stuff the other half will want to do'

Finally got this turning up on Wednesday morning. A scruffy but sound Honda CG125 with t&t until October, a £400 bargain I reckon. Apart from a knackered centre stand and some dodgy wiring to the lights & horn (i.e. all the wiring), it's (apparently) fully functional. I am childishly excited.

Looks like the Brazilian model to me (though cold be wrong of course) and they are ace little bikes those CGs. I bet the wiring will be a piece of piss to sort out and I seem to recall knackered stands were de rigeur with these. Also the exhausts used to rot out just because they felt like it, but value for money wise they're probably unbeatable bikes.

Cheers, I believe it was yourself who recommended one back along so thanks if so. It's a 1995 model so should be Brazil-built according to Wikipedia. I finally get the difference between CG and CB125's - it seems the CG is better able to withstand shoddy maintenance and rough treatment for life in developing countries, I guess that would be why they hold their value secondhand. This was the cheapest roadworthy one I could find that didn't have more serious issues and yeah it shouldn't be too hard to sort.

And incidentally, I'd be pretty happy to find a car with such a complicated, rapid development process! Between 1977 and today it's aquired 12v electrics, a fuel gauge, disc brakes and an electric starter.
