I've always liked them, but then I am a Guigaro fan. Love how they have a clear Eastern poverty flavour, yet area also quite stylish. Typical that VW came along and stamped all the character out of it to create the Felicia. You just don't see Favorits anymore. I must try and own one.

I drove a mint green field car about ten yeas ago, it was possibly the slowest car I have ever driven. That was my lasting impression, other than it was quite basic and cheap feeling inside. All of which are the qualities I look for in a car these days.

Are they Skodas own car or did they share a floorpan with something else?

Check check the tat thread :D

Pretty sure it was a clean sheet design (except the old pushrod engine of course). Incredible given the probable lack of any sort of budget. It was a car that proved a much better leap forward than the Yugo Sana by all accounts.

I dread to think about the home-owner's insurance on this one. 2 written off cars and a badly damaged house thanks to one exuberant yoof.

Too much speed. Too much Facebook posting? While speeding.

Apparently it's a guy in his twenties, it happened last night just before 2am, he's in a bad way

It made the tv news in NZ tonight :)

I just had a look at streetview, and do not think he will have a case against Audi re the handling. But it would be interesting to know the speed attained on the strait approaching the bend !

Yep, new design but ancient engine. A couple of decades ahead of other eastern bloc offerings and probably the best of the bunch at the time.

Always found the back end of the hatch a bit too short looking, as with the Felicia. Estates look much better.

Still loads of (rusty) ones here in CZ of course.

Bertone, innit.
