No problem.. it's not quite ready yet anyway. Got to MOT the Jaaaaaaaaaggg first. I'll see if JohnK still wants it.

Well whoever ends up with it, I've got an LPG kit from my Dad's deceased 740 in the garage to fit it, FOC naturally.

Just watched the Video.... It's a lovely bit of kit isn't it!

Yeah. Needs a smiley plate but make sure you get the proper one as phase 1 and face-lift plates are different and phase 1 plates look gash on face-lift cars.

Can you point me in the right direction?

MOT first, of course. Then I'll tidy her up.

Quick update.

Since I got the Jaaaaaaaag, EPB has been stuck on - I suspected this was due to a knackered battery!

I can confirm, it was a knackered battery. Battery replaced with a nice new shiny one and all is well in the world of Jaguar - though the ABS light is still on. I have been informed this may clear itself after a drive as the computer relearns its parameters etc. At least, the handbrake is no longer stuck on meaning I can drive her to the MOT (next week).

Yeyyy.

I had a problem with mine when it chucked out all of it's water. I was very lucky in that I took notice of the bing bong and stopped for a look.............

The top hose consists of some hoses linked by a plastic gallery...........part of this plastic gallery forms a junction and just above the junction there is a blanked off stub. This is quite thin and when it gets old is prone to getting blown out. Mine is 2005 and was about ripe. New top hose assembly was about £100 from Jag..........a little less from specialists but I'm not convinced on the quality of some such parts so I coughed up the £20 or so for the genuine one. Quite out of character for me really but if it fails you can loose the engine

It does look like some pipe bodgery has taken place on this engine, there's a stub coming from top of header tank - that has got a bolt in it for some reason. After MOT I am going to replace the top pipes and complete header tank.

Garage just called, There's a spare slot today for an MOT - looks like she is going in.... Wish her and me luck!!!

I'm looking forward to your forthcoming sale of this, if short-term turn-around is a common theme  8)

Best colour ever.

No, Im determined to keep her - I regret selling my other one - deeply! SO will keep this one going for as long as I can :)

But ultimately, when she's ready she will be passed on.

The results are in:

FAIL.

2 Front Tyres and Nearside Front Headlamp aim too low.

Now where is the nearest scrap yard ;)

LOL

She's been parked up on a farm in Spalding for the best part of a year - with 0 movement for months. There's 0 rot. I am impressed.

Well, the guy I use is very thorough, this is both a good and bad thing. I think if it hadn't failed on tyres he would of just sorted the light out.

Yeh I hear you....funny one though the beam angle as no one I know has beam testers at home to ensure correct angle is set!...

Forgot to pump up the front tyres?

Nah to be fair before the MOT I said to order me one tyre for Passenger side front as I noticed a tare in the sidewall so knew it was knackered, the other side is obviously not far behind.

Oh I forgot to add, ABS Light was on on way to the garage for MOT which would of been a fail... I parked her up and just before I'd turned the key to turn her off guess what had disappeared.

Restarted her to see whether it would come back and nada. 0 faults.

Good.

Yeah, I pre ordered one side anyway, so other side to be done tomorrow.

the leaper was not allowed for some time due to pedestrian safety but the murricans could have them so they were available from the spares department

iirc in the uk if a leaper was to be retro fitted they were suposed to be hear the trailing edge of the bonnet not near the rad as per older jaaaaaaaaaaaags

LOL Mines definitely aftermarket.

mines an aftermarket chinese one that is spring loaded and twists out of the way should some idiot try a bonnet roll.

the genuine fixed one from back in the day apparently had sheer bolts fitted.
