Multi Vehicle Insurance

I've just tried to get a quote from Admiral Multicar for the Rover & the MG,it didn't work as they don't cover vans.Are there any policies that cover a mixture of cars & vans?

Try A-Plan (sorry, no link) as they insured my VW T5 and Merc W126 on one policy

Aviva here as well. Oddly don't cover my bike though....

I think it's A plans Thatcham office you need to call as the local branches are out of their depth with anything different.

I also have car and van on an Aviva multicast policy. Doesn't save a lot though!

Admiral do insure vans on single vehicle policies though - I just took one out for my glorious* new arrival

But a hidden additional excess if you don't use their approved repairer.

what would a multi car policy generally cost compared to 2 single car policies??

Not that much in it in my experience.

It depends in part on the NCB on the main policy. When I did multicar for the first time found it was a decent saving when I added the Ka to the policy I already had with Admiral, of course come renewal the saving had decreased...

 

However (with a bit of cajoling) they came down lower than insuring the Saab and KA separately. 

 

The real trick is to find a multi car policy that matches the NCB across to both cars, and then at renewal you have that much NCB on both cars, insure them separately and winner!  Or at least they did when I first got the Mazda... so now I have two lots of NCB  Admiral have stopped doing this now sadly...
