Exciting isn't it! My plan tomorrow is to see how the airbed blows up in the car, and work out how to unbolt the back seats or otherwise remove them to make it flat

Lol aye it is a bit, I'm going to dig my cooker out later & see if I can fix it. Should just need a seal at most, colemans are good things. Then start working out how to load the bike with it all & leave room for a pillion.

Exciting* update. Cooker fixed, was just dirt trapped on an O-ring.

I'd be interested in a night in a hotel around the Scottish borders.

You mean like Peebles, where there's some great mountain biking? ;)

I'm doing my best. Still a few things to tweak like pipes rubbing together and a tiny fuel leak at the return manifold. It has been a road test and is performing well.

I get the keys to my new gaff on the 18th of May. I have to buy EVERYTHING for it. That said if I can get something done with this big yellow bastard I will attempt to get it in for MoT on Tuesday 15th May

Looks disgustingly smooth, knocking the timing out for added 'in service' realism!

The exhaust cleared up after a drive but it's now blowing reek out the breather...

It's screaming for an oil change as well but the stuff is sitting there for it.

Well this works well!

I took the rear seat base out to lay the back flat, but I'm going to bring it with me and experiment with leaving it in, to make the seat back sit at a slight angle as nature's pillow! Either way, it'll do!

Fucking dead now though lying under the boot window for 2 minutes in the beating sun!

Hard to find England ones except when we're loosing some chavball tournament.

World Cup's coming.

Don't, please don't! I hate chavball.

I spoil you lot! With just 4 weeks to go to the social occasion of the year, I got my plumber mate around today and after 5 years of inactivity I have recommisioned the Portacludgy the executive bathroom suite. As a result I now have an open all hours bog, hot and cold running water and of course, the obligatory brew point! When I had my house rebuilt 6 years ago, I lived in a small caravan and had an old wooden shed shipped in complete with bog and central heating boiler to heat a radiator and provide hot water for morning ablutions. The boiler is at least 30 years old and built out of parts from half a dozen dead boilers, and has been christened Frankenboiler. Shortly after the house was finished, an extreme frost burst most of the pipes in the shed and as its job was done, it was left. Shitefest was the perfect excuse to resurrect it and it is now working!

I have, being true to form, lost track of whom I have sent direction to Chez Saabnut, so if you are coming and I have not sent instructions to you, post on here or drop me a PM and I will send them to you.

On the Saturday, there is a Classic vehicle auction at Morris Leslies at Errol i anyone is interested, but it is 50 miles away roughly.

Be aware the nearest shop (and pub) of any description is about 4 miles away from here, the nearest Co-Op is 7 miles and the nearest proper supermarket 15 miles away so I would suggest stocking up on essentials on the way here. Will add more if and when I think of it, but feel free to ask anything I have forgotten.

Hot and cold running water? Wow! I don't think we even had that last year, and we stayed at a 'proper campsite'!

I'm sure we can leave it full of suitable reading material for you, since bub2006 isn't bringing a car to fill up with it this year

I have not received directions Mr Nut!

Also, ooh a Morris Leslie auction. It could be an amusing day out.

Pretty sure I've not had directions, but it's possible I've lost them...

I still have no idea what I'll be attending in. The 2CV isn't really shitey enough, the Starlet is too tedious, the Invacar is restricted to another meeting in July as its first major outing (and also, just no) and whatever I manage to bring back from the Bulgaria trip will have dubious legality. Mrs DW has offered me the Nippa, but I can't say that's massively appealing either! It is definitely quite shite.

Maybe a trip to the auctions is in order...

I can provide a link to a dropped pin on Google Maps. I plouged the road from Dundee to Aberdeen on the megabus for 3 and a bit years and even I took about half an hour to find the correct location on the map going only by the address.

I can already haz a google map just like that, Saabnut sent it out ages ago to those of us that asked at the time.

Directions sent to Supernaut and Mr DW as requested, including a link to davidfowler2000s really useful map

Do you mean there won't be some crudely made signs made out of car parts to upset the locals? That's a tradition that needs to be maintained!

Whoever has the wheel trim of joy needs to arrive first really.

Did some shopping earlier! We went to asda and I got 4 butane cans for a quid each and a natty little cutlery set for £2! Think I've got a lend of a friend's 12v fridge too, if so I'll buy my beer in thame and save £500

Hello. I'm not dead.

I am somewhat vehicularly limited so I will turn up in whatever is fit.

As an aside I have read that there is some concern about distance from the southerners, so for that reason I plan to leave at 6am as usual, meet Mr Fowler at Abington services, then stop at Tebay for brunch before heading to Aberdeen. That way it'll feel like a day out rather than just a couple of hours up the road.

I'm not sure if it's been asked yet or not, but Mr Saabnut, bearing in mind the distance you are from shops, do you have a fridge that could be used for storage of tasty nutritious foodstuffs such as square sausage etc?

I mean, I assume you'd have a fridge in your kitchen, but I mean perhaps another one elsewhere (like some people I know who relegate old but still working fridges out to their garage / shed / whatever for beer storage).

Or just enjoy it only being a couple of hours up the road and get there nice and early and enjoy being child free? I means it is your special weekend, you normally make the schlep down south every year

We should have shitefest 19 in Cornwall next year, fuck the Scottish over... Smug bastards

Reet, I think my current plan is to head up immediately after I finish work at 14:30 on the Friday.

I'll most likely be taking the Acclaim as the Dolly would need to go via the scenic routes and I'm not entirely sure I trust it. I also plan to acquire a proper 1970s ridge tent...

I just have a fairly large fridge in the house, but also have a couple of freezers with some room in them if that helps. There is a stream through the carpark garden for cooling beers though

Looks like I am going to be able to come for the full weekend after all. Other half's prior engagement has been called off and my leave request has now been approved :D I will probably bring the caravan so I can take the Legacy for a damn good blat once unhitched ;)
