If no other ASer does not want this, I will collect it to stop it going over the bridge. I hate these cars with a passion (having cooked the last 3 I owned shortly after spending far too much on them) but would hate to see it going to waste. I have a trailer and am not too far away.

I would be very happy to see it go to a good any home, ie one that is not mine, but......

I'd collect the fucking thing tomorrow if it didn't inexplicably cost the best part of a grand a year to insure. Car insurance in this country is an utter fucking farce...

That's why I drive a van, significantly cheaper than the equivalent car to insure.

Fife isn't that far away. I'll talk the youngun into a roadtrip.

By the weekend, or at the weekend?

FOAD's mate is in desperate need for a car, so he's collecting it tonight it seems.

Well, if he doesn't Conor says friday is OK to drive me up for it.

For sale, £80, free to a good home, sold to a friend, all within a few hours.

I wanted rid of it and gave it away to the first person who could collect it.

I told him that when he is no longer needing it then he can offer it up here for free so anyone who is desperate to see it saved will be able to step in and have it.

Glad someone stepped in. I've no use for it really but I'd have taken it on to stop such a legendary autoshite bike being weighed and dicked around in it for a few months and put it through a ticket til someone else fancied it.

Scrap a car scotland in thornton is paying £100 to £150 at the moment if nobody had bit.

Same here, if it had been remotely practical for me I would have hatched a collection plan and had a second stint with the AS 220. I would have remade and installed my " power train by bollox" commemorative plaque.

It's me who taken it, only needing it for a couple/few weeks until the carina is ready for the road then it'll be back up here FOC

I'd like to see pictures again of this fine chariot. Not that I'm interested in having it, but intrigued to see what it looks like.

Bloody hell, look what happens when I go out for the day!  I've still never seen this car in the metal despite winning it in a Roffle ages ago!  I'd have been well up for it just to say I actually did own it once!

Hey Eddy how many roffles have you won!? You must be top of the roffle leaderboard?

Glad the Rover is being saved/used.

May I volunteer to become AS owner number 17 please ?

I'm up for a go with this too. Is there anyone north of the border who could get this through its MOT at the start of December? (For money obvs). Ms C is going to be spending a lot of time near Inverness and has parking available up there but doesn't want to drive up from Shropshire (not in the Astra anyway). She is going up in about a months time and can get as close to you as public transport allows.

5 wins in two years; two cars not taken possession of (this Rover and the recent 405).  Wins: MG ZT, Saab 9-5 estate, Rover 220, Rover 75, Pug 405 estate.  ZT still among us (with Bobthebeard currently);Saab gone; 220 TBC, keep following this thread ;)  ; 75 For Sale right now in Southport; 405 still among us with djimbob.  Don't know if any of that means anything really but even if I never win another one, it's been fun.

Yes. My girlfriend lives not far away from the Rover and I live south of Inverness. Don't mind shunting it about as long as it's insured.

Thanks LP, that sounds great. I had a horrible feeling that I was going to have to drive up to try and sort a car out for her.
