Split_Pin Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Growing up, I felt that these were everywhere, propelled in part no doubt by the fact that there was only one car dealer in Linlithgow where I grew up, called Regent Motors. Millars of Falkirk were also just a few miles away. My mum had a 1992 J plate Fiesta MK3 Fiesta which was, as far as I could tell from the mainline brochure, 100% a Popular Plus model that they were trying to shift before the updated MK3 was released. My mates mum at the time had a local dealer special MK3 Fiesta on an H plate called a Regency which was a base model with gold wheel trims, gold coach line and a rear lip spoiler. And then there's the Fiesta, Transit and Escort 'Bonus' models which were anything but. I also remember names like Sapphire, Quartz, Quartet were applied to Eacorts and Fiestas at the time. One of the models that was actually nice was the run out MK4 Escort Eclipses. Metallic paint and an XR3i rear spoiler. I'll try and grab some stock Google images of why I'm talking about later on, anyone else got any?
RoadworkUK Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Ford was churning out special editions on an almost monthly basis, my favourites being the (original) Fiesta Flight with its natty Concorde graphics, and the somewhat effete Escort Dash cabrio. Dealer editions are an altogether rarer delicacy. My local Toyota dealer, Coronation used to knock up Coronation specials, with two-tone paint. The local giffers couldn't get enough of them. somewhatfoolish, HMC and michael t 3
sierraman Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Granada Huntsman is a favourite of mine. mercrocker 1

ProgRocker Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 There was a Fiesta Frascati from the early 1990s. A place in Italy I believe. egg 1
bub2006 Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 I had a j plate mk3 fiesta many moons ago. Was a 1.3 with electric windows, central locking and full length electric canvas roof. Light metallic blue colour too. Calypso i think it was called.
Shep Shepherd Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Folk in Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and Dorset (and possibly south Essex) got the Fiesta "Meridian" in either metallic red or metallic blue in early 1993, to celebrate Meridian Broadcasting taking over from Television South as the regional ITV television broadcaster on January 1st that year. If I recall correctly, Stephen Fry did the voiceover for the TV advert: Lucky old us. michael t, Craig the Princess, mercrocker and 4 others 7

Probably not TV related but I think it was actually confined to East Anglian dealers.
sierraman Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 When I go I'd like to make that journey in a 1984 Sierra EMAX Hearse. egg 1
Junkman Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Die first in Dusseldorf? What kind of advertising is that for a hearse? Very appropriate given that Düsseldorf is about as entertaining as a hearse interior.Twice the size of Vienna's central cemetary, but only half as merry. mercrocker 1
