Be careful of modern cereal packets, the cards a bit thin, I've sourced the good stuff from pre 1985 jigsaw puzzle boxes from charity shops, someday I'm going to try cutting a headgasket from an asbestos laden Monopoly board.

?? The last paper gasket I got with with a water pump was proper thin, much more more so than the cardboard box.

Fair play if it's sealing nicely machined surfaces, but sometimes a dirty pock marked distorted old flange needs something with a bit of bite. I'm after realising I've missed a trick, all those jigsaws I've fucked out could have been assembled into gaskets, maybe with less cutting needed.
