Where did you see this? It lives about 500 yards from me, near Shoeburyness, the rear numberplate has a surround that says 'a woman's place is in control' :)

I hear it come chugging past my house every morning :)

Posted

It is often in Wickford, Enterprise way.

Posted

Nice to see it being used as it should be :) It's kept outside and has been used a daily for over 10 years to my knowledge!

That had Kadett badges on it!!!

Damn! Is that 3rd picture a Talbot Solara  I haven't been down there this year.

Posted

What's the red car on the left, four cars down?

Posted Image

I'll make a guess at an SD1.
Looks like one of these....

Cant say I'm happy seeing that there. One of the best colour schemes for them too.

Posted

It only looks like a nerfed door too, but I guess that's enough for a writeoff on a Solara."No problem Sir, we'll just get your car picked up and taken to your local.... oh.... Talbot dealer? Hold on while I get my supervisor...."

Posted

What a shame about that Talbot, it lokos pretty decent. That door would kick out I reckon. I think theres an Alpine in there too, I would love to go and get the tailgate off it.

Posted

If anyone wants any bits, I'm sure I can help out with collection and temporary storage. :)

Posted

There is a blue Talbot Alpine in there, I think it might be under the TR7 thats up a height in a couple of those pics. If the tailgate is not completely rotted inside, I would very much like to own it but can never get down there during office hours. Do you reckon you could check it out panda?

Posted

I'll look next weekend, as I've only just got back from there. I can confirm 2 things though - The red coupe thingy is indeed a Celica. (There are two of them!) And the wheels on the Stag are exactly the same as Hirst's Charmant ones, and the bloke wants £80 for the set.

I was at the Arena Essex swapmeet earlier today, and spotted this beauty

I remember circa 2007 a virtually immaculate MK1 Carlton appeared in the yard. In dog-turd brown with beige/gold velour interior. Clearly old giffer owned. I so wanted to own it, even though I had no money and no driving licence at the time. The reason it had been scrapped I reckon was because the gearbox (manual!) wouldn't stay in gear. I've never seen one out of pictures, and certainly the manual version is extinct. So I took the handbook, keys and original service record out from under the passenger seat, put them in my pocket and walked out. I still have them....even though I couldn't have the car. The registration was PLD 399W. It disappeared out of the yard soon after that - judging by the amount of time this yard keeps anything old I reckon it was sold for spares.

Had to call an auto electrician out to diagnose a 'Check engine' light on the other half's Tacuma. I must have called the only autoshite auto electrician in the area, as he turned up in this, which was rather rusty round the edges!

Thouroughly decent bloke, and didn't seem to mind me blathering on about how all modern cars being shit.

Been up to the scrapyard again today to get some pics for Mr B.

Fook me I just saw a ghost! I had one of these for my first car (they also came in two-tone metallic light green/solid dark green). Sadly mine died in a crash

Spotted this recently, spooky looking house in the middle of a really nice street. Bet the neighbours love him/her.

Mk2 phase2 custom, wouldn't mind the grille off that. Come to think of it, wonder what the luton is like.....

Posted

It looks rough all round, but solid. I'd knock and ask, but I'm too scared.

 woose!

What's the bonnet like on this? And are they breaking the 123?

These two Amazons are well known to the VOC. The white one is a really early B18 122S (but not the earliest known) that did have a full Webasto sunroof. You can see someone's had the 'Amazon 122S' badges off the wings as well from the tide mark. One of the blokes on the VOC cut it out lock stock and installed it on his own car. I also have the boot garnish from it. They're much wider than the later cars were.

Panda, if either of the steering wheels in those Amazons are any good, give me a shout.
