It's will come on the original wheels, I dont like them so fitted some Barry wheels, the car came from englandshire, doubt one would have survived up here!

So it comes with both sets?  Factories and Barries?

Bodywork is average

Could you please explain what this means in reality?

I mean, by now the average bodywork of these is having been

a washing machine casing and then a pallet of sardine tins.

In this case I imagine 'average' means neither a minter nor a total shitter but somewhere in the middle. HTH

This is a beaut and a rarity - no cash to blow on another vehicle at the moment but bloody good luck with the sale.

So a median average rather than mean or modal then.

Smash it on fleabay. I'm sure there'll be a Vauxhall licker on there who'll be gasping.

^ this

Apart from here, I have't seen it advertised anywhere

No just original steels

So it really looks like this now then?

Sadly my Vauxhall licker has enough on plate and I am overwhelmed with Rovers to sell

Posted

Sell it to FOAD, he's had so many cars since then, he's probably forgotten he ever had it.

I'd rather not have it back thanks.

Bollox is on the money with his description it's not mint but neither is it hanging, yes there's bits of rust but no holes or impending mot phails, the paint is flat but does come up ok with a decent polish.

Yes it will be on the original trims like it has been for the past 2 months or so.

I had it advertised on gumtree and car and classic had 2 people turn up, one expected a minter and the other thought it was fucked as he couldn't drive worth a fuck.

It says something when I would rather drive this than the newer stuff I had

Crikey.  After that post I went off and looked it all up

Not so sure I'd be getting so upset over a 600 note motor advertised as crusty and average.  I was going to set up the roffle on the Rover 420 today but ermm I might not bother now   :?

edit: the angry post has been removed I see

So it's been repaired , how many cars this age haven't? I'm not trying to hide anything and wouldn't sell something I didn't think would make the journey wherever .

Honest cellar, rear car, RWD etc

Don't understand- folk used to go mad for these things to get the engine and box for Shoveits. Jay W- I also owned one, identical to this around 1999, and lived in Glenrothes.. Spooky!

But the generation of CIH lovers was replaced by the OMGREDTOP! generation

Does OMG RWD DRIFT not count for anything these days. I appreciate this post is of no use since I'm not in a position to buy it, but can't believe someone hasn't at that price

Yeah, even ten years ago when I was into Mantas the CIH was considered a bit of an anchor.

I is old. I pulled out the CIH in my Manta and put in a 2.2 Carlton lump. When I read your post I realised I had my last Manta 24 years ago.

I thought they were alright motors. Nothing really special but nothing really wrong with them either. It's the 16v/Redtop/Coscast boys who didn't like them.

Eddyramrod needs this.

I'd buy two roffle tickets.

Eddyramrod doesn't.  Eddyramrod doesn't have enough feet for the pedal count.

Eddyramrod is very glad you've managed to get a sale though!

Of course not.

Sadly, Scott, not everyone here possesses your practical skills or has the available space or disposable income that you do.

I think what FOAD meant is unless a car is £1.73 or free it usually won't be bought on here, the guy has a few old cars but isn't on here
