South West Meet, Sunday 23rd July

Anyone fancy doing a south west meetup, perhaps somewhere around Exeter?  I know there's a few of us about now and we can't let those fancy northerners and posh London folk have all the fun.  Perhaps sometime in late July?

We had one about three years ago so it's high time we tried again now there's some new faces about.

Sounds good, I can't see an issue with that!

Count me in if the South West Meet takes place. Late July or early August is best for me but the dates are up to you. Around Exeter or a little north from there sounds good, whatever you can arrange.

If the A35 is ready then a positive maybe...

I would imagine the a30 is more important for a sw meet !

^ I see what you did there.

That's a good response already, any suggestions for a venue then?  I reckon somewhere with food available, probably a Saturday?

I'd be interested, Sundays are best for me as I'm trucking every other Saturday mornings. The big Triumph is ready to roll.....

Sundays are my only option too.

Though any further north or East than Exeter and it wouldn't really be SW!

Just found this thread as it was posted whilst I was at Le Mans. I can do any time between now and the middle of August when I am off to France again. No idea where though but can bring the little Peugeot out for a run.

Right then, lets try Sunday 23rd July then, somewhere near Exeter.  I reckon probably a pub with a car park unless anyone has a Devonshire version of the field of dreams!

Or there's the Mortonhampstead Car Musuem (http://moretonmotormuseum.co.uk/#TheVehicleCollection) which is quite ideally situated.  Never been myself, no idea if it's any good or not but could be worth a go.

Me and Xtriple met up at the motor museum and it is pretty good but there is very limited parking, we took most of it with a Rolls and a Bentley. The date should be ok for me though.

Is there any parking nearby?

There is a car park nearby, count me in.....

I'm out due to work unfortunately.

Although I might be able to pop by and say a quick hello depending on final times / location (Got to be in Exeter at noon).

23rd July works for me. Please post final arrangements when done and dusted. Any indications yet as to numbers attending.?

Not when you live near Dorchester... 23rd is good for me...

Sorry, been a bit forgetful about this...that's only 4 down, does August work better then?  Perhaps Saturday 5th?  Or shall we just roll with 23rd at the museum?  Anyone know if there's a decent pub nearby for a spot of lunch?

Anytime is Ok with me. I might take the pug to the festival of the unexceptional on the Saturday 22nd. I am also off on holiday from the 12th of August until the 23rd. No idea on a decent pub as I can't even remember how I got there last time

Right, on account of being hopeless, I've not had a chance to do anything much about this yet, however I have discovered that it's the Festival of the Unexceptional on Saturday 21st which I'm rather keen to go to but it's a fairly lengthy day out so I can't really do both on the same weekend (the address is Buckingham, MK18 5HZ).

Could we postpone to August to hopefully get more SW'ers on board?  Sorry to be a muppet.

On the other side of this, does anyone want to go to the Festival?  There's space in the car!

I will probably be going to the festival taking my old Peugeot but it depends on the weather. I don't mind taking the car out in the rain but it isn't much fun sitting in a muddy field or wandering around getting soaking wet looking at old motors. I don't mind a meet in August if I am here. There is the Thornfalcon meet on the 20th in Taunton which is always good but looks like I will be missing it again this year.
