bunglebus Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 The early MK2 Escort Ghias came in some lovely colours, who could resist Jupiter red Don't know the name of this one Don't know this one either Or this one And then it all went wrong when you could buy a solid midnight blue Ghia. Just wrong. Essex V6, Skizzer, danthecapriman and 6 others 9
AlabamaShrimp Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 My Beetle was the Focus/Puma/Ka yellow, don't know the name 402184_10151224319765013_197740332_n_zpsyr9halkt by RS, on Flickr I have no time for silver/black/white modern cars, mad colours please.Just missing the green stalk bits.
forddeliveryboy Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 Does anyone have high quality versions of either of these two please? They've been on the tablet ages and can't remember where from, reverse image search is worth trying.
forddeliveryboy Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 Why aren't there more purple cars? danthecapriman and vulgalour 2
Vantman Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 My new daily driver.i bought this to make an effort to keep the mileage down on my scruffy Saab 900.2003 9-5 2.3 automatic in the fetching colour of Glacier Blue,i like it anyway. jumpingjehovahs, BorniteIdentity, bunglebus and 4 others 7
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 I'de nearly forgotten what a bland yet ugly car the 4 door Mark 2 Escort was! The top one is Jupiter as you say, the blue one is Miami and the green one is most likely Jade green. Ford introduced a virtually identical colour in 1979 - could be that. The gold escapes me for now. forddeliveryboy 1
Talbot Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 0410b5e3a85c1d61c9eea5609465eabe.jpg Why aren't there more purple cars?Because a car has to have a fairly decent shape and look good in the first place to be able to pull off purple. If it's a bland soggy blancmange of a car (as most are) it just looks crap. forddeliveryboy and Laseraligningfoofooflanges 2
bunglebus Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 I'de nearly forgotten what a bland yet ugly car the 4 door Mark 2 Escort was! How very dare you! I rather like the more-door as a Ghia at least, had a couple. danthecapriman 1
artdjones Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Is it just me or does the Combi Coupé have mismatched paint on the front wing?.Thanks for uploading.
SierraMikeHotel Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 1d170bd5ed13a0c14d88c2b9e5baaf13.jpgAh, I haven't seen one these for years! The mother of a friend had one when we were school kids and I was starting to think I'd imagined it. It was a total, total shed. Got written off when someone parked into it and cracked a tail lamp. forddeliveryboy Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Is it just me or does the Combi Coupé have mismatched paint on the front wing?.Thanks for uploading.Every panel looks to have a different shade, could be the lighting? I can't imagine the company would submit a car which had a replaced and colour-mismatched front wing for a brochure pic. However, stranger things have happened.
Alusilber Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 0410b5e3a85c1d61c9eea5609465eabe.jpg Why aren't there more purple cars? Mmmm. Audi used to do a dark purple called Merlin Purple which I thought looked good on an A3.
Cleon-Fonte Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Car colours need better names. None of this Moondust Silver or Arctic White nonsense. Fiat had one called Cha Cha Blue for gods sake. What we need are names like these: Simply RedHughie GreenJames BrownHi Ho SilverDeep PurpleRabbi Lionel Blue Be much easier to remember the colour names when ordering touch up pens. The Vauxhall Adam is the answer to your prayers, with colour names such as: Buzz Lightgreen The Greyfather (just why?) Saturday White Fever White My Fire James Blond Papa Don't Peach A Star is Brown I'll Be Black Parky, Pillock and forddeliveryboy 3
bunglebus Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Volkswagen have a colour I like called Uranus Grey which amuses me because I am a child. chodweaver and BorniteIdentity 2

phil_lihp Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 I saw a late mk1 Discovery on a local trader's forecourt a while back, this colour looked ace and seems pretty rare. No idea what it's called, mind. And on the subject of green, I don't think these ever came in a better colour, even if a lot of the actual paint was missing off this one. bunglebus Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 A work colleague had one of these Can't even find a pic of a UK spec one in the right colour, never seen another. I rather like this on the new A class, maybe there's hope for moderns after all. CGSB and JeeExEll 2
JeeExEll Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Oooh yeaaah!!And check out the matching(-ish) caravan. I seem to remember some sweets in this colour. I think some square Spangles were this colour. Maybe it was Opal Fruits. And some sort of boiled sugar coated sweets with chocolate inside. Will have to visit a sweet shop to investigate. Am struggling to imagine what that Chevette would taste like. "Don't look at old pics of Chevettes folks, you'll rot your teeth". Yoss, BorniteIdentity, CGSB and 4 others 7
