Bad points

Rust on the front wings, doors, rear arches and valance.

Play in the steering resulting in the car wandering slightly/getting blown about in the wind

Rear seat is scabby - It's usually covered with an old giffer tartan blanket

Starter motor sometimes misses but it has never failed to start

It's had a poor respray in the past featuring flat paint and runs

Old tyres - starting to crack so need replaced

Good Points

None...

The car drives and stops reasonably well, the brake calipers were recently stripped and greased and had new pads fitted and it's had recent ball joints. The rust is cosmetic more than anything, it's had a fair bit of welding to the inner sills and some inside the engine bay, it's solid for a near on 40 year old Japanese car but it won't be winning any shows anytime soon.

It has a 1200cc engine and a 4 speed gearbox.

It's had a new clutch, the biting point is quite sudden - it's either on or off, it takes a bit of getting used to.

Mileage is around 90k I think

Mot is up in September, V5 here and there's no service history from what I remember.

I'm after £999 for it and located in Fife, Scotland.

PX welcome.

We had loads of those, and the previous shape, when I was a kid due to my dad working for a Datsun dealer as service manager.  I hated every last one of the miserable little bastards.  Slow, noisy, uncomfortable rot boxes which just refused to die.  I especially loathed a red estate version of this vintage which iirc wasn't ours but belonged to work and he always seemed to come home in.  How this has translated to me looking at this and thinking "would" 30+ years later I'm not sure.  Nostalgia is a funny old thing.

If roffled, I would have a ticket or three.

Then talk your chums in the Armstrong Siddeley purchase syndicate into buying the remaining tickets and you've scratched that itch with immeasurable style.

It this car were an austrian-domestic-market Datsun for sale in Austria with austrian papers, it would go for ~ 2000€.

To me, I guess.

Quite appealing.  Sadly I cannot raise the funds required for purchase though I would go a raffle ticket in the unlikely event you didn't sell it at this price.

This just looks so good to me.  Datsun set new standards with five speed boxes and other stuff that this, er, doesn't seem to have.   But somehow it appeals.  No, I am not going to buy it, but please take this as a BUMP.

At £17 a number I don't think it will roffle but feel free to add your name to the list and we'll see what happens.
