Worst car show for me was littlewood repairing bumpys, he bought them from cleave salvage at list price, spent full whack at a proper looking body shop to fix them then forced them on some poor sap who had no option other than to buy one of the nails.

That cat c fire damaged range rover p38 did the rounds for about 5 years unsold, sure he put an LPG conversion on it as well. The punters wisely walked away but in the show he claimed they'd already had several offers on it for more than the original price.

Yeah course you did.

He made me laugh a few months later though doing his "don't get done get Dom" program slating a garage for selling an "ACCIDENT DAMAGED CAR, this vehicle had been declared a WRITE OFF from the insurance company and required a GOVERNMENT VEHICLE IDENTITY CHECK to prove the repairs were done to an acceptable standard".

The same check you can pass by trailering a non working car there, hand over £43 and by the time you've handed the money over the cars passed?

Now abolished of course but what a joke that VIC check was😂😂😂

I've now heard wankel so many times in the last hour the humour has worn off!

Ok, so the original owner bought it back for a supposed £1500 profit, in Labour I expect that's very cheap. He did well.

Like the Porsche 914. Same story there.

That will be the one where Mike took it for a cheeky run down a farm track and amazingly when he reached a gate at the end of the road, the camera crew were already there.

Gotta love TV continuity at times.

How old is that series of wheeler dealers as the car hasn't had a ticket on it for quite sometime and it's got a bit of a mileage discrepancy

Well no, they're allowed to set shots up - that's not a continuity thing. That's just making a TV show, otherwise the whole lot would be filmed from a GoPro on Mike's forehead.

Continuity errors would be, when the car got to the gate it had different wheels, a taxi sign on the roof and more people sat inside it.

There was a forum once where they checked through loads of them and many were SORN or scrapped. I wonder what gives?

As for the RX-7, I imagine it is no doubt awaiting an engine rebuild.

Sometimes I would prefer if we did just have the one point of view. Yeah it would make it a bit boring, but it may go some way to convincing me on Top Gear races etc.

I get that cameras need to be set up (same as when Mike leaves his car and drives back in the new one), but it just makes me laugh.

True enough, it certainly isn't continuity - but we do see that as well.

I like Ed, me old china and ol Micky Brewer ent a bad lad.

Some interesting stuff.

Just watched the RX7 episode.  The Snake Skin makeover 'ent my bag' but the water transfer dip technique is quite clever.

It's all made for TV of course, but it's better than that other malarky "check the bidet and ask for matts and flaps" that did the rounds.

lol....I remember that programme & the episode that you mention vaughant, that range rover was pretty well barbecued...lol. The woman that presented it with him (Dom) did not have a fucking clue either...about anything. Great example of this was, Dom bought a then new (about 6 months old) Mondeo MK3, which had been hit on the front (quite a sore one actually) & whilst Dom was fixing it,

the stupid presenter woman took the would be buyers of the Mondeo (MK3 remember) to look at other mondeos, to see what they thought about the Mondeo (Mk3) Only.....they fucked up because, they went to look at Mondeo's.....but it was MK2 Mondeos......Completely different cars apart from the name....Daft Bint.

The water transfers things were smart on the wheels. Would love to get some alloys for the 75 with the fake wood.

Yeah remember the Dominic littlewood thing too, the Range Rover and Mondeo episodes. All it seemed to show for me was that you could buy and fix up a Cat C/D write off for around 75% the cost of buying a straight one, which would then only ever be worth 75% of a straight one because it's a Cat C/D, plus be a hell of a lot harder to shift on.

There again, wheeler dealers is the same, they never used to make a penny either, which mike would justify because 'sometimes it's not about the money' except it is, because that's the premise of the entire show

Another "great" WD episode was the Capri and the rattle canned wing. They might as well have sprayed the wing black as it would have matched just as much as the paint they used.

The MX5 screen surround filled with chod - oh and the E30 touring with the "stainless steel" exhaust FRO.

Watching WD right now, MK1 Escort, what a cracking episode!

Early on they did a Delta Integrale which the seller told them had a problem with the steering track which would need the engine dropping to fix.

TV Version - Edd bangs on some new poly bushes and that fixes the problem. Jobs a good un

What actually happend - Car needed the rack changing. Integrale specialist in Reading allegedly charged them two grand for the work as Edd couldn't do it (according to the Integrale forum I frequent)

Reality TV not real? 2 years back they made part of a film about Norfolk opposite my house. I live 35 miles from the Norfolk border but never mind. I think the films called Norfolk 'n good. Anyway a few weeks later I got a letter from some programme about having a rummage through my shite so that I could be humiliated on TV. That ones called 'cunt in a cap' but I haven't replied yet.

Edit: Writing this prompted me to have a look at the reviews of this film- I never bothered as the locals said it was cack. The Guardian is even less complimentary saying

"the whole fetid shebang is a drag over feature length and would have been improved by losing an hour off the running time."

This scene on Youtube was filmed in the house next door to me, a bit of fen chic that would have Kevin Macloud gushing all over the place.
