I'm ready. I think.

Some insurance, some train tickets, and incontrovertible* evidence that I am driving directly* to an MOT (tomorrow).

First train is 12:40 featuring delays and storm Doris.

No trains out of Manchester till at least 4pm, possibly not at all today.

Mission abandoned.

Trains to the south not running and not starting again any time soon.

Trains back home are still running, will abort and try again, maybe tomorrow.

After a few mins stop for a fallen lamppost, I appear to be on track to get back to where I started in half an hour or so.

Long shot but does anyone fancy a collection mission? Would really like to get it today so I don't have to have more time off work.

I haz one of these in my lock up if you need any bits. It's a TS pez but bits available. I need to dispose of it by 5th March. It is in North London though.

I can provide a lift if required.

What a SOLID BEIGE LEGEND.

A plan is forming.

Cheers Ken, will assess the situation once I get my hands on it and let you know.

It is an ill wind, etc...

Although I am naturally sad to miss out on 156 pornos with bonus pasty and train upholstery action, I am sort of hoping that a certain Person from Porlock will not be able to get a train to Manchester today, for selfish reasons that I could tell you, but if I did then Skizzer and I would have to kill you, and then each other.

That is a considerable feat, in and of itself.

I reckon that most Autoshiters have this skill innately, and would also manage to come a respectable tenth to twenty third in the annual Long John Silver Memorial Trophy one legged person's arse kicking contest (always held in Rhyl, or in Bratislava, according to whether there is an r in the year).

Dateline: Leicester Forest East.

All is well, Alfa is proceeding fine. Its lovely inside and filthy outside. Has a wheel bearing noise and possibly a knock from a droplink. Suspension is non-squeaky, repeat, suspension is non-squeaky.

MOT tomorrow, obviously if its hanging underneath I might have to cut my losses but I rather hope not.

Obligatory petrol station shot:

Smooth collection overall (or at least the car-based bit), Storm Doris and roads in Warwickshire seemingly designed to kill all non-local folk failed to stop us. The Alfa seems a good 'un, definitely a MEGA BARG.
