I won't ever use my welder. Still boxed used once. If interested drop me a pm.

May be interested, I need to generate some space at home before I get anything like a welder and gas bottles etc, i'm packed out with useless clutter!

I used to have a clarke90 gasless mig. I could never get it to work properly! I need to get something beefier with a gas bottle.

OK mate that's fair enough. I should perhaps teach myself to use it. C15 an all!

Posted

TBH I found that the bigger the welder the easier it was to use, gasless is really hard to get decent results from too.

Does anyone like using gasless welders?

Posted

When I first started I used gasless as gas was hard to get ahold of in 9 litre bottles and the hobby ones are shit. It's not easy to get a nice weld on gassless.

There's usually cheap second hand ones for sales on retro rides.

HOLA, as of today, the PT cruiser has gone and this is now my daily driver. The inlaws have gone spare, not sure why as it's nothing to do with them. Apparently it's a problem that I can no longer transport the whole family around. I think I'm going to find a minibus that's being broken and nick all the glass it if it and a couple of seats for the back.

Has anyone got a pair of coach seats or similar with belts? Will this be "illegal" to do as it's a panel van on the V5?

I'm looking into it with the c15. Side and rear facing are ok, no engineering reports or belts needed. Forward facing need belts and a report.

Or pop the seat belt off as you turn a corner and watch them fall out and not be an issue anymore!

Aren't side-facing seats illegal now?

Why would you even consider side seats?

Get some good strong seats, and make sure they get bolted to solid parts of the floor...

Don't forget the seatbelts. I guess seats with belts fitted are the easiest solution.

2CVs are sods for water leaking through the wiper spindles. I've known folk make their own seals to prevent it. They always look AWFUL though. Not sure if that matters here.

If you still have the Fiat why do you need another people carrier?

In case it breaks down apparently.

YES, someone has!

It's a pair of seats with belts from the ex-CMS Transit camper conversion that Moog was doing. Will donated a pair to us for my sis to put in her work van, but she never turned up for me to do it. They're yours if you want them Tim, FOC, natch.

Come and get em, BD23, fill up on cabbage_juice while you're at it to make it worth your while. I'm still absent for another week, but cabbage_lad is about.

They are clearly and understandably jealous.   I know I am.

CHEEEARS!!!! can't knock an offer like that. Now I'll be able to take the whole family out for runs in the countryside.

Don't spose you're going to the Cannock meet?

No, but I have some ideas to help the seats in your direction. Bear with...

I think a Bosch XUD turbo conversion will be on the cards too pretty soon, if you have one buried somewhere.

Take your inlaws for a spin with the door open, they'll soon fall out.

I think the weird noises coming from the back end (or at least some of them) are down to a whiny N/S/R wheel bearing. Do I need any special tools to get the bearing off and the new one fitted?

Yo! Tim, do you still have my old Aldi or did you move it on? I've just been nostalgically looking up a load of my old cars and see its on a SORN.

You bought it from me, I didn't buy it from you!

Last time we spoke you told it it had been sold to one of it's previous owners from years ago and they had it on SORN. It's back up in Newcastle or somewhere now I think.

*EDIT!*

Oh yeah, just remembered!!, I had that coupe from you! I took it all to bits, bought some parts for it but never got it running. My boss at work had it, did the same and passed it onto an auto electrician, who still has it. It's in the Warrington area.

I still owe a donation to your charity!

Ha ha, yeah, the coupe. I think the 100 is in east Leeds somewhere, maybe Castleford?

Was a nice car the coupe. I would probably still have it if I hadn't run out of money paying the garage about £700 (£200 more than I paid for the car) to do absolutely feck all to it. It got to the point that I just had to cut my losses and get shot of it. Gutted.

The Coupe was lovely. I spent ages cleaning it up and making it look nice. Just never got to the bottom of why it wouldn't run. Bloody thing.

I've been offered an identical Pilot for spares, £150 (neg) should I?........

You didn't think for a minute that you were going to get away with just buying ONE?

Do keep a space for that bargain rotten Minibus that you will JUST have to buy too !
