castros_bro Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Anyone (angrydickie?) nearish Canterbury able to have a look at this for me before I commit my cash for what could be a money pit ??? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/General-Electric-Vector-II-based-on-Citroen-AX-Prototype-No-Registration-/152263516980?hash=item23739ce334:g:jsoAAOSw8w1X8P7H Craig the Princess 1
egg Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 10 miles up the road for me, I could potentially take a look tomorrow as working at home so could escape for an hour or so. Guy seems to be based in Netherlands so not sure why car is Canters? Anyway - PM me, and will see what can be done. BTW - I'm no expert when it comes to car buying as should be clear!! But I can at least physically verify it exists and true condition.
barrett Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Are you fucking serious? Dick Cheeseburger, Lacquer Peel, Cavcraft and 3 others 6
Kiltox Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 I want this too but it's never going to be able to go on the road is it?
Parky Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Brakes don't work. Yeah, that would be the missing master cylinder that. Bespoke body where every single thing is made of unobtanium, plus how would you ever get SVA/MOT's etc? Or another bonnet! If you go for it, budget for a 3D printer as well so you can make bits for it privatewire 1
panhard65 Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Can't help with looking at it but that looks a great project I wouldn't think SVA etc would be too hard with the right research. Do you know how much he is hoping to get for it ?? A nice challenge for someone with a bit of imagination. Go for it !
Angrydicky Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 All I can say is LOL. I would look at it but I don't live in Kent any more.
castros_bro Posted October 12, 2016 Author Posted October 12, 2016 He/she/it/they, ex-Canterbumble Uni, was in contact with the seller who has a feed back of 2, directly (cough cough Eshitbay) and didn't* find an AX vin donor whilst waiting for an off piste cash bid. egg 1
castros_bro Posted October 17, 2016 Author Posted October 17, 2016 Wells weils wells, yon dutchperson with the one off AX seems to be a bit confused as to location as he now says Hi, de Vector did not sell. Are you still interested? Please let me know.PS the car is located in the Netherlands, not in Canterbury. egg 1
Ghosty Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Bloody hell, that gearknob has to be the most phallic I've seen. Alexg 1

No-one in their right mind could ever think that buying a lashed up prototype with no ID from forrin parts is a good idea. When are you collecting it? The Moog and Cavcraft 2
Dick Cheeseburger Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 That's pretty special. Imagine the film company giving Gene Hunt one of these, instead of a Quattro. 'Fire up the Vector Two' sounds a bit of a mouthful. "The GE Plastics Vector II was designed in 1989 and used as a basis is a Citroen AX. Therein GE has used all sorts of clever ideas; for example using entirely recycled and recyclable plastics. Now that's normal but back thren it was not obvious. GE Plastics also has another, quite modern-looking dashboard designed for the Vector II. There are also other door handles (they seem very much like that of the first Twingo, Renault will they copied?), Lower sill for groceries .... This prototype has been designed in 1989 for the Kunststoffmesse K'89 in Düsseldorf. The Vector II was present on the Citromobile 2012 as well. This is a prototype, purely for the purposes of demonstration. So without a registration or subscription. There is no vehicle identification number (VIN). Now there 13km on the odometer. The bonnet is missing and it is the plastic cover of one of the headlights road, as well as a portion of the center console. The engine is not running and the brakes do not work. The Pirelli`s approximately 27 years ago are still there, with sufficient profile but also with many drought cracks. New tires are necessary. By standing outside he did not improve - found in various places, there is slight corrosion. In case of questions do not hesitate to contact me. Please consider to take a look at the car before placing your bids.his is a very rare offer for a collector interested in for example Citroën, Citroen, PSA, Peugeot, General Electric Plastics."
castros_bro Posted October 18, 2016 Author Posted October 18, 2016 Hi Tosspot, The car is located at Lisse (near Amsterdam and The Hague). You are free to inspect the car of course. Because it is a prototype without a VIN there no paperwork is with the car. It has never been registered. It should be collected on a trailer. Am asking 995 euro, and is negociable next to the car. More pictures on my website. Please take in to a count that more people are interested, I sell it to the first buyer. Met vriendelijke groet, Maarten ******Warning***** contains Renaults http://www.auto-podium.nl/occasions.aspx?did=5266&zoek=1&cf=nietverkocht egg 1
Dick Cheeseburger Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 That's the first time I've ever heard a seller refer to a potential buyer as a tosspot, but in a friendly manner. Weird.
panhard65 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 I think you have probably dodged a bullet by not winning the auction there. I bet if you had won it and went all the way out there he would then of told you about the price hike. I almost got caught like this on a Renault in France I was all set to go then he said he had someone else and wanted more money. Most French sellers have been great but this one set the alarm bells ringing. As interesting as it is I think you are best walking away unless you are out there with a trailer anyway then worth a haggle.
Dave_Q Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Also, he's slipped an extra 9 in the price there. Its not like its a preproduction Ferrari or something, its a lashup by a plastics company. A curiosity at best. Its got a market of about 3 people, and I suspect our friend will be waiting a long time for his 995 euro.
castros_bro Posted October 18, 2016 Author Posted October 18, 2016 Well fuck me, this place has changed. I see no insurmountable problem in going and probability getting this back n making a puck to vac form a bonnet etc etc and getting it legal onto the UK road on my sub-average wage. Otherwise I may as well put the central heating on and watch EastEnders followed by a couple of hour of interwobble masturbation of "I'm the fucking greatest" on social media. Mr Bucket (whom I have never met) in the East would you hitch over to NL and check this out? I see there is a day trip return ferry to where I used to live in NL. Goes out and kicks a BSA into submission n off to spoons for a beer.
Ghosty Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 No VIN? You're gonna have some fun there. Also, Bucketeer isn't active on the forum at the moment.
castros_bro Posted October 18, 2016 Author Posted October 18, 2016 I have previously registered 5 vehicles which were not manufactured with VIN in your UK so please tell me the issues I will encounter? Would the MODs please remove my account from Autoshite as every time I try to delete it i fail !
Dave_Q Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 I think you've got the wrong end of the stick, nobody is suggesting you shouldn't buy it, I'm very much looking forward to hearing that you have. However 995 euro is a lot in my opinion, and the point about registration is a valid one - the proper way would be to stamp a VIN somewhere and IVA it, the less proper way would be via an AX "donor" aka ringing. Honestly it sounds like a lot of hassle that many wouldn't go for, hence why it needs to be cheap, but love for the unloved is still what this place is about (I think) so don't flounce off just yet eh?
