Kiltox Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Got one of these a while ago - it really is only £25 worth but has it's uses
SiC Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I've just treated myself to (nearly a year late) 30th birthday present last night: http://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/tools/socket-sets/halfords-advanced-200-piece-socket-and-ratchet-spanner-set They have an extra 15% off too (when you get to the checkout), so came to just under £150 all in. I did a click and collect, so will be picking it up tonight. Got fed up of having a hodgepodge of different tools of varying decent and crap quality. I've been told by professionals that the Halfords pro stuff is actually pretty good and they're good at honouring warranty on stuff that breaks.

Top tip though, buy a 7mm Allen key socket and a TX25 socket and jam them somewhere in the box - both regularly used and an annoying omission. SiC 1
colino Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 The Advanced stuff really is top notch and even the moving parts are covered by the lifetime guarantee now. The, "breaker bar" is a joke though, but no doubt every shitter has an extra persuader in their toolkit. Before you buy, check around with friends and family and see if someone has a tradecard.

Well bought - I have the smaller 90pc set and give it a hell of an amount of abuse
Kiltox Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 even the moving parts are covered by the lifetime guarantee now Is that just for stuff bought after a certain date? My 1/4" ratchet is a bit fucked
colino Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I'm not sure if it was when they changed from the professional(?) brand to advanced, but I do remember the last time I bought a set the helpful chappie reminded me that everything was now covered. (Probably a couple of years ago).
egg Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 They were also doing 2x axle stands (2 tonne?) for £10 in my local one the other day.
Jim Bell Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Its hardly low profile. It has its own thread. The Moog, robinmasters, Conrad D. Conelrad and 3 others 6
They_all_do_that_sir Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Is it low enough for the XM I wonder? Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
