Shite with chips

The Blingo has an irritating flat spot under load around 2000rpm, usually in 4th but occasionally also in top.  Apparently, this is a known issue with the 8v HDi (one of the very few, to be fair) and a remap can cure it.

So this is what I am planning to do.  Thoughts/recommendations very welcome.

Have you tried unplugging the air flow sensor? They are incredibly prone to failure.

Have a tame mechanic put it on the computer and look in the data at metered air, if the reading doesn't alter much when you give it some revs, the sensor is buggered.

I keep trying to justify ( to myself) chipping my Merc. It's a 280 Dizzler which is the same engine as the 320 and 350, apparently a£250 box will give me the 320 output ,which is 240bhp, up from 195. Of course at 220,000 miles it would be pretty stupid to put that extra 45 BHP strain on everything else.

Maybe I can feel a flatspot......

Is the bingo Bosch or Siemens management? Bosch = cheap and easy remap. Siemens = bench flash only, not many can do it and $$$.

Mines a Siemens.

Easiest way to check is to look for a part number/ maker name on the injectors. The ECU will be labelled obvs, but its a bit hidden behind the battery.
