No it dosen't it's a f**king 5 series hatchback for f**ks sake , that looks like most of its styling ideas were stolen from the current Impreza, which in itself is pretty minging .What a utter POS. No doubt they would have sold by the bucketful over here pre recession, hopefully it will be a victim of the crunch though just like that horrible abortion of a coupe 4WD (X6?). BMW are in danger of losing it like Mercedes did earlier on this decade, all sorts of irrelevant crap to fill niches that didn't exist in the first place - R class anyone?Chris Bangle please come back, all is forgiven!

With that 5-series hatch and the X6 I think senile dementia is creeping in. Even the fugly & hateful X5 had a point to it, and I'd probably not kick one out of bed now since all the vile celeb twunts who bought them 6 years ago have moved onto other things. Really ought to stick to what they know best - the latest M3 is an incredibly good looking and immensely capable machine by all accounts. Guaranteed to be a 'pog-ride' in 2022

My slightly demented (and heavily in-debt) work colleague is talking about getting an X6. But then, style-wise, it is a step up from the Subaru Tribeca he was "definitely getting" last month. I think the X6 looks f**k stupid, and have done since I saw a RHD development hack (on Munich plates, no less), complete with minimal camo, on the wild back roads of Berkshire about 18 months ago. The only M3 I'd like is the four-door E36. In that nice blue, not a yellow one, ta.Anyway, I think the new Insignia is quite a handsome machine. Am I on crack?

True, but then the new Mondeo is about a Scorpio-and-a-half in size so it looks to be something of a trend. I actually quite like the look of the Insignia, and I'm not normally much of a Vauxhall fan.

Because they have the worst fucking gearchange of all time.A great car spoiled by a shit gearchange. Even the VXR is afflicted. Then again, I was too terrified by its lack of cornering ability to notice how bollocks the gearchange was.

Interesting though that "progress" (the new model) always seems to equal more inches (oo-er missus) The small model eventually becomes a bid model, and they have to introduce another small car to replace it. I'm looking at you VW! I think the current Polo is as big as the original Mk1 Glof

Yes especially width; my neighbour has replaced his old model Passat with a newish Jetta, because the current Passat wouldn't fit in his garage, it was too wide to open the doors It can't be safety features, the Saab 99 and early 900s I owned had massive beams in the doors but they weren't that wide and some smallish new cars eg Clio get five NCAP stars, so why? Answers on a postcard to....................
