Here is a photo of my grandads watch

 

 

ignoring the bad punctuation (as he was from a remote Essex village) lent his best friend this goliath watch

as he departed to become a ranger in the remote (isn’t it all) outback of the Australas. Upon his bizarre return he handed it back in this hand carved (ie wonky) hardwood stand.  So as I am being evicted from storage I'll keep the watch.

Renault old Trafic diesel van with no MOT noisy diff but spare diff/gearbox supplied £0-36p. Should get an MOT.

 

Ren Clio automatic (W reg?) MOT but had frontal prang, runs and drives ok but needs cosmetic bending on NSF headlight/bonnet and rad tie wrapping securely. Ideal for long journeys to Morocco (and leaving there).  Drives ok. Wing is plastic so has resumed it's shape, Large bag of tie wraps and a few thumps on the bonnet with a brick should have it looking good.

Was bought new by a builder and son over Reading way and passed to his son who gradually stopped being a builder but kept his dad's van. Used by people to go on moped rallys etc.  Son bought cheap house over inteewebs  - parked van in front of garage - moved to house  (on island off Austraila) in 2007.  Occasionally returning to Reading to see family.  After a while June 2014 decided van had to go so sent me the keys. For some bizarre reason the van has a water cooled diff which was fitted by Renault for use in the tropics like Reading, as the owner drained the radiator  and filled it with water the diff cooler split and diff filled with water. Diff has been drained and filled with oil but now makes interesting noises which the poor radio cannot drown out.  Correct replacement gearbox/diff included but not fitted.  Dent below side door was owner's fuckwit BIL slow speed parking on his EXs garden wall. Currently used a mobile shed for mopeds.
