The Xantia of many Autoshite owners could be right up your street bub.

Derv and vegetarian so proper cheap to run.

Massive load capacity for car booting. PAS and comfy.

Worth a look?

That's a valid point. I'm seriously considering it now if I'm honest.

And it has a tow bar!

Yep. Where do you live? I'm still waiting on full logbook for Volvo but have green slip etc but you obviously know I ain't going to do a runner or rip you off

Surely that's old enough for a classic car policy?

I've tried one of those James classic insurers and they don't want the Sierra as its newer than 86.

I had that Sierra insured with Footman James with no issues.

Can we sort something out foad?

Of course, I'm in Dunfermline but would meet somewhere between here and where you are.

*Edit - Stockton on Tees looks like a good middle point.

Xant would be right up your street bub. Think my old BX with a bit more refinement.

Is the logbook going to be an issue? I can post it to you. Also got to sort cash put for fuel to get up there. When would be a good time?

I like it to be fair. Me and a friend was writing a list of cars what would be ideal and a xantia was on it fpb. Bonus is diesel, estate and towbar

Me too.

Other than the cancellation rape.

I think the xantia will do you well Bub. Sounds like a good swap to me for both parties.

I would check insurance mind. Big diesel engines are usually more painfully to insure, even though they're slow.

I'm getting bummed £92 a month insurance on the 406 but I only had 3 months left on the policy when I took the Kia off. No NCB either doesn't help but I only need to fuel the 406 once a month so that evens things out.

I get about 530 miles out of a tank in my 406, more on a long journey. It's an HDI but I think it's similar economy to the XUD.

I've got it on a classic policy with footman james at the moment at £167 a year with the 309 also insured on it.

It might help you now that you're married. They might magically consider yourself more responsible.

Xantia was a nightmare for insurance. It was about £300 a year more expensive than 2.3t Saab 9-5. Fuck knows why

The logbook isn't going to be an issue, if you have the green slip it'll be ok.

Insurance is 90 quid a month for me on xantia,100 quid a month cheaper than Volvo so quite cheap. It's looking a very viable option
