Afternoon fellow shitters

Due to my lack of space I have to loose one of my stock. So, on offer today is a P plate Skoda Felicia 5-door hatch. Its the 1.3i (cat) with the 5 speed box. 3 previous owners and 68K OTC. Sunroof seal is leaking and the interior could do with a bloody good scrub, but the car is in fair condition having had a part respray a few years ago. Some scabs on the rear arches, the sill and a slight knock undernerath the headlamp.

We recently replaced two sensors on the engine - rad fan and some sort of idlespeed control. Now runs good

No Tax or Test although it would pass with very little work possibly a tyre or two (I cant remember atm  ) I just dont have the time to do anything with it as I have more important things further up the list, like fixing my Sierra & the Rover engine swap

On offer only to members of this board. I dont want it up on RR as some mug would slam it with cut springs and 17s

Car is located about 5 miles outside Swansea, 15 mins from Jcn 43 on the M4. Any questions or whatever then drop me a PM (will sort pics out in the next few days)

Sadly too far away for me to consider, but it's a kind offer and one I'm sure someone here will be happy to accept. Good luck!BTW, I agree with your sentiments about RR!

What a great offer !!!Those Felicias are lovely 'real world' cars ! A few years back, my Shitroen decided to suffer its routine weekly mechanical failure at a most inconvenient time, so I went around the office begging my work colleagues for a car. One of them took pity in me, and handed me the keys of her brand-new Felicia !I had imagined FWD Skodas to be fairly grim to drive, and I wasn't impressed to discover that hers was the 'base' model (with big colourful 'BASE' stickers all over its white bodywork !), featuring the 55HP version of the prehistoric Czechoslovakian OHV.However, once I hit the road, I was pleasantly surprised ! The car felt extremely solid (like an older Golf) and was a fairly pleasant drive : comfortable suspension, torquey engine, light controls and even decent handling !All in all, an excellent car for the daily commute, and they're also supposed to be super-reliable ! So whoever bags this one is surely onto a winner !!!

Good cars, I've had two. I will pass this one up though, mainly because I am also an RR member and would definately get the satin black paint and angle grinder out!

Good cars, I've had two.!

I had the 1.6 version and it was one of the worst cars I've ever owned. If anyone needs any bits cheap - lights, electric mirrors, fuel injection, starter etc - give me a shout, as I took quite a bit of stuff off it before I weighed it in.

All in all, an excellent car for the daily commute, and they're also supposed to be super-reliable !

A myth, I'm afraid. Mine had one owner from new and 45K on the clock when I got it, full service history etc, it had never even been smoked in! Result? A total heap of shit. The ABS broke, the ignition barrel fell to bits causing me no end of aggro, calipers seized, the bonnet release snapped, wiper motor failed. Water pissed in past the ill-fitting factory sunroof and windscreen rubber. A plastic lug in the thermostat housing broke off causing the thermostat to jam and the car to overheat. The 1600 doesn't go any faster than the 1300 and has the added bonus of using more fuel and being in the higher tax bracket. When the clutch packed up at 55K I limped it up the drive, bought Albert Ross' Astra (which, incidentally, is a far nicer car to drive) and scrapped the useless object at just under 8 years old.I'm sure the newer models are better, everyone seems to say so. My sister bought a Fabia and hasn't had any bother in about 2 years of ownership, but I wouldn't touch another one of these. The old Favorit I ran for about 5 years way back was a better car.

They're horrible things, at least the Favorit has a bit of shitey charm. The Felicia had all that watered down by VAG.I drove a well looked after low-mileage example and it had the worst handling of any modern car I've driven, and perhaps the grimmest interior.

Hey if you put it on RR, you'd get 17 year olds wanting you to MOT it and deliver it a considerable distance, all still for free like. Or they would moan about the scab on the arch. They would also only communicate via text or possibly MySpace. This is why I did not put that 1985 Escort cabrio I found at a local salvage dealers up on RR, whereas I would have a couple of years ago. I was not willing to do an 120 point check on the car, nor lend a teenager the money to buy it  .

A cheeky insult of a gambit, but If it comes to weigh in/no interest time, I'll take it - however it would be thrashed to death to CZ by me on a banger rally @ what I did in a Felicia last year (and numerous shitters prior). However autoshite will find somebody to carry the flame, and it will never come to that (hopefully!) :D

Uh, thanks but no thanks. After all if I wanted it fu*ked, I would have done it myselfIts on offer because space is tight ATM. It's sat in the garage not being used with other projects inline before it and its a shame its doing nothing - I would rather someone get the use and enjoyment out of driving it than it sitting there doing sod all, rotting away. The last time I drove it was back in May and I can say (after driving huge lumbering 940's, 9000's, Granada's and a Carlton) that it was like driving a go-cart! In my OP im making it sound worse than it is. I will get it out of the garage this week and give it a wash and get some pictures.Fuck if it get's no takers, knock down the garden wall, remove privet hedge and park it on front lawn as a garden ornament
