95 estate? That is an itch I'd like to scratch. Being a 55 plate does this have the dame Edna front facelift?

Posted

Nice!

The 2.0t wouldn't be my engine of choice in it, as its a big car and the HOT/aero versions are similar prices. Personally, the 2.3T HOT (aero) version is the one my bucket list. Yours must have been one of the last pre-facelift, facelift (dame edna) came in 55-plates. Plate of choice, as its the last of the £290 tax band - newer ones jump to £495 in the aero/hot form. In fact all the Autos did too.

Its no for me so not too fussed re 2.0t-seems to go well enough and power is only a remap away..Also the fact it has mot til 2017 and was sub £500 all in its favour.36mpg on way home too.

yeah she was lucky re tax band!

all in, it drives fine for 202k miles..

You wouldn't think it'd done 202k..

The big silver one, with the wires going to it!

Trionic7 I think it'll be on that. Kinda like one of those old digital clocks with the flaps...

All Greek to me, but tuning is done with a laptop and some software. I'm leaving well alone as I still regard a twin choke as the ultimate performance accessory. If you have a large forehead, then this place explains a lot.

P.S. The word "Boffin" is excellent.

I haz just purchased a set of those wheelz. 17". Bloody tyres are cheaper than 16"'s now.

Have been a bit concerned about mine as it's not had the breather update kit, and it's the right year to have the sludging issues. I was assured it had always been run on Mobil1 and has a specialist service history. Always the trusting type, I whipped off the rocker cover and was greeted with shiny cams and a nice clean cylinder head. Phew. Updated kit and genuine Saab oil and filter on their way from Neo Bros.

Cheers chaps, I might mention to the owner about the forum suggestions/common issues I've heard about-as I imagine saab specialists up north may be thin on the ground..

Figured out the oil leak and cause of the smoke.. hwBXKVvV.jpg|http://thumbsnap.com/hwBXKVvV

looks like sump gasket has failed above the exhaust.

got it cleaned up and instant gasjet applied as a remp fix- Will advise owner to get it replaces and a sump drop/oil pickup clean done asap.

No gasket on these, just sealant.
