chaseracer Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I cant help friday but can sunday if I'm on the road. I don't mind fetching Dave from Cannock. I need a nice steady drive. Why don't you come along for the ride and do some of the driving...? skattrd and Cavcraft 2
bub2006 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I can only drive my car I think, not sure on other cars till I insure a vehicle! But if I've got a motor I would share driving of said conveyance
Inspector Morose Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Sadly I'm going the wrong way - when the keys have to get down the country, I'm going up and when the car is going up the country I'll be heading down it. If keys haven't got down by Thursday, I'll divert and pick them up for Chaseracer and drop them off at his. chaseracer 1
trigger Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Shouldn't you be able to claim for a hire car of the 3rd party? They did inconvenience you after all?
bub2006 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I would hope so but his insurers have had to pass it on to a different department what handles higher cost claims??
AlabamaShrimp Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I don't seem to have posted yet but really I'm a usless git miles away that probably can't help with anything. I can contribute to a PayPal fund if one gets started
trigger Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 That shouldn't matter. Your without transport. You can also use a taxi and as long as you keep all the recepts they will compensate them for you. You need to badger your insurance company and tell them you want a car (or more likely a van as it's like for like). You are entitled to it and your insurance company won't care as they'll claim the hire costs from the 3rd party anyway. Skizzer and Cleon-Fonte 2
bub2006 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 My insurance company are doing sweet f.a mate. They say cos I'm 3rd party f an t I deal with third party insurers
Cavcraft Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Time to go and speak to an ambulance chasing no win, no fee brief. Skizzer, beko1987 and oldcars 3
trigger Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 That doesn't sound right to me. You should still be entitled to a hire car from the 3rd party as your claiming of them, not yours. You need to contact them directly. Craig the Princess 1
bub2006 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 The 3rd party said they can try to sort hire car out but I deal wth them or solicitor not my own insurer
trigger Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 That's correct. Thats how it works when your TPFT.
JohnK Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I could probably help with that Graham - tying it in tomorrow (as discussed by PM) would be a no go for me due to my start time changing to 9.30.

Cavcraft Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Just a thought Bub but did your mate get goods in transit insurance for the van for doing jobs in it? Might cover your tools and even if not if you have receipts for them you should get the value back from the other person's insurance. Even with fully comp it can be a pain by the way. Still waiting to get my £200 excess back from when someone hit my car in a car park. Because I didn't pay extra for legal cover it seems my insurance aren't especially arsed.
chaseracer Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 OK, here's a plan. FPB7 collects Picasso key from Chompy on Thursday, while returning from SVM diplomatic duties. ASMM Delivery Services will then swing smoothly into action, powered - as ever - by tea & bacon. Leave it to the experts*. You KNOW* it makes sense*... greengartside, beko1987, Coprolalia and 4 others 7
bub2006 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 No tools in transit cover on insurance cav. 3rd part insurer asked me for list of everything I lost yesterday and they sent me 30 quid straight off in case I need a taxi anywhere. I've never known that to bloody happen!
taxi paul Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 My daughter didnt get the hire car when she had her accident, other drivers fault . She refused because she couldn't drive anyway with the wiplash. She was paid out for her car in three weeks. The compo payment took about six months to come through. This was with the other driver admitting fault straight away. Because she never had hire car she received £10.00 a day from day of accident to being paid for her car, around £180.00 I think. It was to pay for bus fares etc.I wouldn't worry about other driver denying all knowledge and fault. The police and his insurance company will decide in the end. Best of luck with what could be a long frustrating process. Hopefully it will all sort out sooner rather than later.
Coprolalia Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 No tools in transit cover on insurance cav. 3rd part insurer asked me for list of everything I lost yesterday and they sent me 30 quid straight off in case I need a taxi anywhere. I've never known that to bloody happen! This speaks volumes about what they expect the outcome to be. Sounds like the 3rd party insurer is trying to minimise their losses by covering your expenses up front rather than waiting for you to send them a massive list in several months. Work it son! Bear Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 No tools in transit cover on insurance cav. 3rd part insurer asked me for list of everything I lost yesterday and they sent me 30 quid straight off in case I need a taxi anywhere. I've never known that to bloody happen! The power of an accident being both clear in terms of fault, and in the national press...
purplebargeken Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Still need a paypal destination folks. Some dosh here waiting to be sent Bear 1
Dave_Q Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 We really do need to get bub into that winner wagon auto proton. Can someone near it volunteer to collect paypal funds and go buy the car and we can sort out moving it later. Based on the pledges of paypal there will be more than enough to cover buying it and getting it north i would have thought.
oldcars Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 It looks like fiesta may fail mot. Oh joyShame, whats up with it?
beko1987 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Happy to assist with anything within 15 miles of OX9 3XZ and SL7 1LQ if it helps? Have paypal linked to bank account, so converting fake electronic numbers into hard cash won't take long

bub2006 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Fiesta failed. Spring on rear, brake line front to rear and both rear cylinders Lacquer Peel and Christine 2
