The future is back! Sadly this time without a Tagora engine.

DeLorean--LIVING THE DREAM.

I wonder what power plant they will fit? If they fit a V8 donkey, so much as breathing on the brakes will cause it to swap ends

From what i have read, they still have plenty of PRV lumps in stock. Who knows, with a bit of tinkering they may make them pass current regulations. The DeLorean PRV was already the second generation 2849 cm³ PRV with K-Jetronic. To meet US emission standards it came with catalysator and gave only miserable 132hp and it took  pathetic 10.5 sec for 0 to 60 mph (big square Tagora SX box does that in 7,9). They should have asked Talbot to get the engine right for them, car might have been a success with a proper 200+ hp motor.

Read the article.

They will be using an emissions certified crate engine. Currently only a V8 is certified, hence they are waiting for a V6 to become available in March.

The reverse logic is, that they cannot use the PRV in freshly built cars, because of The Environment.

Good, I think. I like DeLoreans, at least to look at.

But as someone who has spent too much of today washing a set of 20-spoke alloys (badly), those wheels - although pretty - mean I'm out.

Just the right car for you if you have a cast-iron will to not be defeated and a rotten old Venturi Atlantique lying around.

Those guys in Texas, who have been hoarding all the De Lorean spares since the 90s, are making use of some recently introduced regulation

that allows them to build a batch of brand new De Loreans.

Ah, that piss a load of money up the wall legislation passed. Glad my lobbying was not wasted.

Leave it to foxaganda to omit the who, but only say what, and give us a vague when and where, while going on and on about why:

I'm sure this happened a few years back, with an electric or hybrid power plant?

I remember commenting on the article from The Register on Macdroitwich that it still used the BL parts bin stalks and was therefore acceptable.

Another future that never was has made a comeback.

Tucker1052_02_3000-700x480.jpg

This Tucker was assembled from original parts left over when the company folded in 1950.

It's likely the last one. Now there isn't a full set of parts left to make another complete car.

This one is going to hit the auction block, so the wealthier shiters among us should start queuing.
