The reason for such a rubbish start? I got all into position, clutch peddle ready, slight revs, hand on the park brake release for quick release. Only having forgot to have actually select a gear. 

 

I surprise even myself at times

It felt way more dramatic from inside the car. I started with a 6,000 rpm wheel spin. Looks like nothing's happening from that angle.

Many thanks to Will and Craig for letting me pilot the white leper, what a fun car.

Also it was good to meet the others and have a race against the lovely Omega which for any Fiat dealers reading was the only other AS car to go down the strip. Honest.

That's how I felt when I had a go last time, from the inside there was lots of noise and tyre spinny goodness, from the outside it just looked a bit like a crap start.

Absolutely, no black,65-Reg Abarth 500's that are on finance were anywhere near Crail or the 1/4 mile that day.

Funny thing is, I still don't have my spare key for it...oddly enough it was sent on Friday, when I last called up to ask where the hell it was!

After discussions it looks like we are going to be taking the beast from the east and the blue swift to Knockhill on 3rd July for the Hot hatch day.

 

Currently we have got 3 drivers - Myself, Craig and Bucketeer, so there may be a spare diver if anyone fancies it.  

 

Cost is £45 for track time, plus share of consumables (not including square shaped sausage).

It's be good if others could make it, more chance of at least one car still working at the end of the day if nothing else.

If only someone had a hatch to bring like, say, for example, a Storia or something. Or a Variomatic Volvo.

Having just checked, it appears that they actually care about the driver being licensed, so that's me out in any car.

I have absolutely no idea who Bucketeer is referring to, but a recent building purchase means most of my time and money are tied up, so I can't make commitments for a jolly   .... I'll see how things are in a couple of months.

 

For the track day might I suggest getting a spare set of wheels/tyres for the car(s) as they can take a bit of a hammering, so a cheap ebay set should see the car at least legal to drive home.
