rantingYoof Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Well that makes my 1.4 second reaction time at the Pod in my 480 look positively LIGHTENING. Also, Y SO FAR AWAY.
17-Coffees Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Another replay just in ... Response time of 2.24 seconds for that...The reason for such a rubbish start? I got all into position, clutch peddle ready, slight revs, hand on the park brake release for quick release. Only having forgot to have actually select a gear. I surprise even myself at times This is from the inside of the last run, with Supernaut Vs the Punto... KruJoe 1

skattrd Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Moog - who put it down as a Micra? I reckon my little Daihatsu might do well in the under 1.3 turbo class ... I don't fancy driving it 300+ miles each way though.

skattrd Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 in the back of the Volvo.job jobbed The thought of towing the Daihatsu up behind the Volvo did cross my mind ... Then racing tow car against race car Unfortunately I have other priorities at present and can't justify the time/expense of a trip to Crail
Supernaut Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 We cut live to an action replay of the action ... https://youtu.be/96uWzGUK7Xg Yay! That was my run! It felt way more dramatic from inside the car. I started with a 6,000 rpm wheel spin. Looks like nothing's happening from that angle. skattrd and reb 2
The Moog Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 I reckon they were just in awe of its amazingness so put Micra. skattrd 1
Bucketeer Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 A GR9 day was had by me. Well worth flying across Europe for. Many thanks to Will and Craig for letting me pilot the white leper, what a fun car. Also it was good to meet the others and have a race against the lovely Omega which for any Fiat dealers reading was the only other AS car to go down the strip. Honest. Dave_Q 1
The Moog Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 When were you changing up! Sounds like about 2500Rpm

Looks like nothing's happening from that angle. That's how I felt when I had a go last time, from the inside there was lots of noise and tyre spinny goodness, from the outside it just looked a bit like a crap start.

Honest. Absolutely, no black,65-Reg Abarth 500's that are on finance were anywhere near Crail or the 1/4 mile that day. Funny thing is, I still don't have my spare key for it...oddly enough it was sent on Friday, when I last called up to ask where the hell it was! - Yeah, seeing my go from the passenger seat in Supernaut's video has made me see just how bad it was. So least i'll hold the record for the worst run ever in it...
The Moog Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 After discussions it looks like we are going to be taking the beast from the east and the blue swift to Knockhill on 3rd July for the Hot hatch day. Currently we have got 3 drivers - Myself, Craig and Bucketeer, so there may be a spare diver if anyone fancies it. Cost is £45 for track time, plus share of consumables (not including square shaped sausage). skattrd 1

320touring Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 I may bring summert up for lolz. you alon this Sun moogster?
The Moog Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Sadly not. Return from the isle of square sausage on Saturday, so wont be around
Bucketeer Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 It's be good if others could make it, more chance of at least one car still working at the end of the day if nothing else.If only someone had a hatch to bring like, say, for example, a Storia or something. Or a Variomatic Volvo. The Moog and skattrd 2

skattrd Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I have absolutely no idea who Bucketeer is referring to, but a recent building purchase means most of my time and money are tied up, so I can't make commitments for a jolly .... I'll see how things are in a couple of months. For the track day might I suggest getting a spare set of wheels/tyres for the car(s) as they can take a bit of a hammering, so a cheap ebay set should see the car at least legal to drive home.
The Moog Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I am on the case. Getting a set off Cav but will need spares for the swift. Also do brakes, fluids then normal stuff.
