There are no problems, only solutions here.

What kind of Mitsubishi Person Carrier?

Posted

You need an S80 D5 auto with absolutely no problems*

Step this way sir........

Mitsubishi Star Runner, 1.8 auto. Side slidey door model.

Bloody ace thing. PBIS do it on a modern classic policy too ;)I am a slut for yellow Beetles.

I got my friends a sweet grey 3.0 Griffin one of those, '02, for £750. Was deeply, deeply envious, they absolutely love it. I'd definitely be up for it, but don't want to spend money - have way, way too much committed at the moment. It's exactly what I'm thinking of though, so if you're up for a swap I'm definitely interested.

Hahaha... Remember the E320 CDI estate that made way for the Beetle...

Obviously, what you really* need* is a 156 Sportwagon. It's a bit* scruffy, but I'm sure you'd love it.

I'll speak to the purchasing department. I expect there may be resistance. 3 is definately not the magic number as far as she is concerned. Company colours are yellow though...

Does it have a towbar? Hypothetically, would you defustify it and fix the windows to swap, or is that too much hassle?

Posted

It doesn't have a towbar - hypothetically I would strip the doors and repair the window & lock module for that Saab, but I don't have time to strip the interior - it's dry, it needs BAC 50 and drying out (apparently) and some interior parts replacing (not expensive secondhand, just CBA) if you want it to be tidy inside. However I've done 5000 miles in it, and it's been to Scotland & back, and is solid & goes remarkably well. Plus it has a sunroof. That no longer leaks. And a yellow radio.

I had one :) Not the fastest I've ever got rid of a car, but quite close. It was a 2.0 one though. V6 I might have felt differently about.

Well, it looks like a Saab swap deal isn't feasible but still up for sale or swaps here - the Mitsubishi isn't my cup of tea but it's not far off (I like the RVR Space Gear models!). Might get time over the bank holiday to get the door trims off and investigate the dropped door, too.

Shame about the Saab. The Mitsu is an amazingly good thing and practical too...........

Sod it, I cannot be arsed with all the cars I have to deal with right now :D

MoT October, IIRC. Starts, drives, stops, goes around corners. Needs cosmetic bits, interior clean and passenger window runner/clip/usual VAG crap dealing with. 113,000 on the clock (almost exactly), new PAS pump fitted, has - glitches aside - been unfailing in ability to get from A to B including runs to Scotland. Comes with yellow-face (and slightly custom since the internals are from a higher-end model) Blaupunkt radio too.

£12/ticket, aiming for a total of £708, I paid £800 for this and have spent a lot of time and a small amount of money faffing with it.

Numbers.

MoT history - KN02PZL.

Go for it. Be quick, stress levels are high. If anyone wants to grab it before Roffle is underway then also, be quick ;)

No. 28 please.

No use for the car, other than to play punch buggy with the wife  :-D

Posted

I'll have a lucky dip, please.

This is a slooow roffle, it's a shame I can't make tickets cheaper, but if anyone wants to get this Beetle out of my way it's still open for sale until the tickets are sold, you know? Chances are if you showed up and waved "reasonably close to my asking price" I'd take it.

Posted

It's a difficult one, cheap raffles sell quickly but anything over a fiver a ticket takes an age unless it's a Vel Satis, I showed it to my daughter who loves it but would never be able to insure it.

Posted

it's insanely cheap to insure, did you check? One of the cheapest things I've insured for a long time.

Posted

I have no need or indeed use for this car, but sod it, in the spirit of Support The Roffle put me down for 2 randomers.

Posted

Go on then 2 randoms please :-)
