whilst at my localish car breakers today robbing 2 rover 800s for parts, i spotted this in there, looks all complete, except headlights, nice looking interior in monaco with red inserts, don't know whats up with it, most likely omghgfftwlolgtfo.

good for bits or maybe recommisioning, as it is in pretty straight condition compared to lots I've seen.

They are very cheap cars. I sort of looked at one . Mot'd ,service history inc recent belts and 87,000 miles . All for under a grand . I think the 2.5 engine and amazing* mpg put people off. I tried to talk no1 son into buying it and then selling it to me in a couple of months. But he slipped up in front of the enemy by asking which one it was i wanted him to buy then sell to me.

It had 'engine rattles' and corrosion on last MOT.

I'm usually on the side of the tester but why the fuck has he put engine rattles as an advisory ? Fuck all to do with the mot

Aren't the rear suspension bits made of unobtanium on these? Plus Engine Rattling and a knackered steering rack as an advisory..... shame, it looks good but there are less kippered ones out there. Strip interior to fit to a solid but disgusting example like 'arris did.

Seen a tidy one of these go through Cannock Auctions for just £250 some time back.

Engine rattle will have been a noisy inlet manifold which has no bearing on running. Just makes it sound like the top end is dead. Rear upper suspension arms are getting poor on a lot of them, but, you can get brand new ones.

That one looks to have decent seats, and some toys. Good spares for people on there. Xenons gone already, unsurprisingly.

Advise - engine rattles??? Eh? Why is that an advisory? A new one on me.

These are great. I'd love another. If anyone comes across a cheapo somewhere in Scotland/northern England give me a shout.

Shame that one's been binned - unusually high spec too. Headlight wash points to it having the pack with the webasto pre heater etc - and it has the telly in dash , cruise and reverse sensors. Been a pricey car at one time.

engine rattles and advanced subframe rot sounds expensive though.

If it's a V6 the engine rattle could be the VIS motors, another not cheap fix. I bought a 75 5 or so years ago for under a grand, they've sadly been worth piss all for years.
